R+D Kitchen is a cozy American restaurant in Newport Beach, California. The restaurant has separate and distinct dining areas that feel intimate enough for a romantic date or a good conversation over a glass of wine. In the center of R+D Kitchen, a horseshoe shaped bar serves guests drinks during all open hours. Patio seating is available when the weather allows, so guests can enjoy fresh air and a wonderful atmosphere while dining. On the menu, many classic American dishes are offered to guests. Sandwiches, salads and a variety of large plate entrees give guests a scrumptious assortment of meals for lunch or dinner. Popular entrees include Ding's crispy chicken sandwich, ahi tuna tartar, Greek-style chicken and wild mushroom meatloaf. R+D Kitchen serves a wide selection of wines, mixed drinks and beers from the bar.

We met friends there and never felt rushed, although we probably took longer than the wait staff would like since we weren't drinking.

Hillstone is the best small to mid size restaurant operator. I've been to most of their restaurants and they always deliver great food and service!

As always R + D does not disappoint. It has become our go to dinning place at Fashion Island. Their chicken fried sandwich is one of our favorites and is always moist & delicious. Service is always is on point and a value for that location. Appetizer, sandwich, salad, two glasses of wine and dessert for about $80. Their triple layer carrot cake is a prefect ending to a delicious and casual dinning experience.

Food is always consistent, wait staff is professional and friendly. Love the menu selection. Food is always very tasty and fresh. Love the prices off your menu selection.

SARAH is the best!!! Our server was personable, professional, and attentive. She always stopped to make sure we were taken care of. This trip was a birthday celebration but we declined dessert. Fernando, the manager, insisted we take carrot cake home on the house. I love this restaurant and its people. I've never had a bad experience or bad meal.

Went, after somebody's recommendation, to R+D Kitchen first time and together with a friend. I had been able to make a lunch reservation the day before, which was totally honored. Our lunch salads were heavenly, chicken salad and ahi tuna tartar salad. The ease to get there (hop skip from parking garage) and then home was great. One of the most delicious, delightful, and hassle-free lunch experiences I've had in a long time. R+D is also unpretentious - a big plus and often a minus for many of surrounding restaurants. Thanks!

I'm a regular at R&D for lunch, and it has never been anything less than outstanding. All of their lunch selections are amazing - consistently excellent quality and perfectly prepared. Servers are always gracious, knowledgeable and very efficient. Highly recommend!

This place was HIGHLY Recommended by a couple of co-workers and I HAD to try the French Dip Sandwich. - Dont get me wrong?! It was excellent...It literally melted in your mouth. I knew going in, it was a $20 sandwich, thie picture made it look huge... it could have been bigger. I was still hungry after. A side of fries was an additional $5 - that seemed high as well. We had 1 Cocktail and 2 beers and the bill for 4 of us was $150... Pricey as far as I'm concerned.
