A British Tasting Menu experience for Dinner, and shorter Set Menu for Lunch - tucked away in London’s Smithfield the dining room overlooks the historical Church of St Bartholomew the Great. We received our first Michelin Star in March 2023 and were awarded a Michelin Green Star in February 2024 - making us the only London restaurant to hold both awards.

Restaurant St. Barts is the culmination of passion & hard work from three long-term friends Johnnie, Luke & Toby - the team behind NEST restaurant in Shoreditch. It is a celebration of British produce in the heart of historical London.

Outstanding restaurant with a menu that constantly surprised and challenged our tastebuds. Everything - every course, was absolutely delicious and the service and ambience were impeccable.

It’s quite expensive, even at lunchtime but the food and service are excellent and the view out to the church is lovely.

Really nice unpretentious service from friendly staff. Excellent range of unexpected flavours in the tasting menu, Definitely deserving of great reviews.

Amazing experience - food is outstanding (the langoustine 😍😍), the whole experience is great with the seating area at the arrival with aperitif and amuses bouche, then you go by the open kitchen and to your table (there is the option to be at the kitchen bar). Great service and lovely stories about the wine - I had the wine pairing. At the end one of the top Michelin Star in our view !

Restaurant St. Barts is, unfortunately, not worth the hype or high ratings it has received. While the concept and tasting menu seem appealing, several aspects fell short of expectations. First, the seating was incredibly uncomfortable, particularly for a tasting menu that can take a few hours. The chairs are simply not designed for prolonged sitting. It was uncomfortable for us, and visibly even worse for a larger guest nearby, who seemed awkwardly squeezed in his seat. It was unsettling, and honestly, it detracted from our overall experience. Service was inconsistent. While a few staff members were polite and accommodating, others left much to be desired. When I encountered not one but two undercooked dishes, I sent the first back untouched, only for a second one to arrive in a similar state. I informed the waitress, who responded with a condescending comment about notifying them in advance if we preferred things cooked differently. It was unexpected and certainly unprofessional. By the end of the evening, the staff made it clear they wanted us out, despite it still being before 11 PM and us having drinks to finish. No one saw us out or returned our jackets; we had to retrieve them ourselves. The restroom was another low point, with a visible lack of cleanliness that included a hair on the toilet seat. Overall, the experience was disappointing. There are far better places to go for this price point, with far more attentive service and a more comfortable setting. Unfortunately, St. Barts did not live up to the standards one would expect from a well-rated restaurant. I would like to receive a refund of my hefty unnecessary and unjust service charge please.

From the moment we entered St Barts our hosts were warm and attentive, serving us small plates with drinks from the lounge area as an introduction to our set meal before taking us to our table. Every person in the restaurant is very knowledgeable, and committed to making the night as enjoyable as possible - It's really great to see a young team with passion for each of their roles in the experience, and for us it really made the night. We were there for my partners birthday and this was noted with a card which was a nice touch. The food was outstanding, my particular favourites being the mushroom tart, and the veal sweetbread with pumpkin, but we really enjoyed every dish. I am always fond of ethos that goes out of its way to support British produce, and this very much lives up to their Michelin green star - their take on chocolate was very clever (since their are no British cocoa farms), and found it to be a very satisfying alternative. The location is also really nice, with a beautiful view over a garden in the square which feels very much of somewhere outside the city. It is expensive, but we will definitely find an occasion to go again at some point. A great place for special occasions. Thank you for a great night, and my compliments once again to the chef and staff.
