Raising a glass from Bulimba, Revel Brewing Co. embodies Aussie spirit and zest. From awards, like the “Best New Brewery” in 2018, to expanding horizons, Revel’s journey is anything but ordinary. Morningside’s iconic lime factory? That’s our next chapter. Despite challenges, by 2021, Revel Rivermakers Restaurant opened its doors. Celebrating both Bulimba’s brewing tradition and Morningside’s historic charm, we invite you on this adventure. We had a confirmed booking for 6 adults and 2 kids. We arrived and there wasn’t a single table free nor any booked. We asked and after waiting for 15 minutes we were told someone must have accidentally removed the reservation signs from the tables… we were told to wait another few minutes and we’d get a table, which we did but just because we sorted it ourselves. 45 minutes later eventually we placed a food order, we were told they were busy and it’d take 45 minutes which we said it was fine. 1h30 min later we went to ask what was going on and we were advised the order was likely diverted to the wrong table and because they were very short staffed there was nothing they could do other than place another new order and wait another 45 minutes…. Not a single apology, not a nice gesture or word. Not sure if you’ve ever made kids wait for 2hrs for food just to tell them it ain’t coming but what was meant to be a fun day out, well, it wasn’t. We just left and aren’t planning on ever coming back. The only nice thing I can say is that the venue is gorgeous, but everything else from lack of convenient access and parking to service was shocking.

It was a hot day but the fans were barely on and no apparent air con. The staff were friendly but rarely left the bar - even when we walked in as the only ones inside we weren’t greeted nor shown to our pre-booked table, no explanations of table service vs ordering at the bar. We had to ask for water for the table ie: the little things. There were also 4 staff working behind the bar therefore amply sufficient for the area and aforementioned service expectations.

I had my birthday lunch here last weekend and it was awesome. I was able to book a table for my party of 9 online ahead of time. Location wise, there was a free car park and it was right on the river which made for lovely vibes. The atmosphere was laid back and they had a little area with lawn games which was great for the kids. The staff were all super nice. The food was great - pub style menu with decent serving sizes. And most importantly, the beer menu was solid, I really like the mango Mac sour ale ☺️. We’ll definitely come back!

Food was very good & well priced. I’m a Revel beer fan & the staff know how to pour a beer (unlike most pubs & clubs in Qld). Dillion James was playing & his repertoire suited just about everyone there.

Atmosphere was good and food tasted great however, the food took two hours from ordering … the kids were an absolutely starving by the time we got our food. Need to work on some pre prep to get it moving along a bit better or at least bring the kids food first when it’s ready.

Delicious and generous serves for the Cauliflower bites, Brisket Burger and Pumpkin & Fetta salad with Chicken and Haloumi. Beer was pleasant, although disappointed there was no ginger beer on tap. Service to order food was pretty slow due to only having 2 staff behind bar with only one doing food orders (as per sign) but a large number were also ordering drinks at the same time. Eventually indicated to order from other queue by one of the other patrons. Otherwise service was good with one of the servers happy to wipe our table down when requested. Very convenient spot to go prior to getting on the Art Boat for Brisbane festival just next door.
