Robun is a tribute to Japanese author Kanagaki Robun and his 1872 book Seiyō ryōritsū, which introduced Western barbecue to Japan.

Our modern-day interpretation of Yakiniku specialises in sharing plates of beautiful robata grilled dished large plates fused with elements from across Asia, paired with inspired cocktails and an extensive choice of Japanese whiskeys or sake in the most inviting and sociable of settings.

Alongside our innovative selection of sashimi, salads and small plates, our fresh sushi is served in a variety of creative incarnations including soft-shell crab futomaki roll with kimchi mayo and a tobiko-topped nigiri.

Upstairs in the Kanagaki Suite, we provide an events space and Karaoke bar set to host celebrations and events, from bespoke meetings to the ultimate party.

Robun is the place to relax, unwind and enjoy sharing plates with friends and family. It will definitely leave you wanting more.

    Un restaurante común y corriente una comida sin sorpresas y poco creativa, otro japonés sin sabor y sin sentido a precio de gourmet Servicio amable pero poco profesional, chicos jóvenes aparentemente estudiantes con poca experiencia y calidad en servicio

    service was terrible, food very average and almost thrown on the table when it arrived, some cold some over cooked, some didn’t arrive until after the bill had been asked for.

    Lovely dinner, served nice and quickly. Our waitress, bea, was very attentive and pleasant. However, the food, while decent, was very overpriced for what you get.

    Not sure what the smell was - maybe intense? I nice smell however found it overwhelmingly strong.

    Despite the high service charge, the service itself was virtually nonexistent. As for the food, it felt like paying Michelin-level prices for a taste that did not even reach the standard of a casual izakaya. I was utterly disappointed to spend £50 on a 100g serving of so-called A5 wagyu, only to be served a scorched, bitter-tasting piece of meat that resembled charcoal more than steak. The texture and flavor were completely ruined—I can’t imagine how one manages to cook an A5 wagyu to such a state. The sashimi was equally underwhelming. It tasted indistinguishable from what you might find at WASO, but at a significantly higher price. Overall, an extremely disappointing experience, both in terms of food quality and service. Save your money and go elsewhere.

    The restaurant gives the possibility to eat as a last reservation at 9.15pm, at 10 they start to take away the plates in front of you even if there is still food, they are in a hurry to close, good food, average nothing wow, definitely a bit expensive for being in Bath.

    Fantastic service and food. Kindly gave us an industry discount as hospitality workers. Always will be the best Asian restaurant in bath and the perfect place to go for a special occasion. Accommodated for my girlfriends allergy perfectly.

    Unfortunately the quality of food was well below par. Which was disappointing as we were excited to try it based on other reviews. Sadly the restaurant ran out of what I had ordered half way through our service so I didn’t have a main course. The service was good and the staff were apologetic, 50% was taken off our bill for the inconvenience. Safe to say I won’t revisit. Definitely not for you if you are an experienced Japanese food lover.

    On arrival, the staff were welcoming, the restaurant was a bit cold, because of the cold weather outside, the lights were a bit dim, difficult to read the menu comfortably. Service was good, although one of plate were taken before finishing the contents in full. Also I wish if they offered normal cutlery rather embarrassingly using the chop sticks Food were excellent, wish to thank the chef a lot Soft drinks were loaded with ice. Not money worth. Overall we would go back for the tasty food.
