Robun is a tribute to Japanese author Kanagaki Robun and his 1872 book Seiyō ryōritsū, which introduced Western barbecue to Japan.

Our modern-day interpretation of Yakiniku specialises in sharing plates of beautiful robata grilled dished large plates fused with elements from across Asia, paired with inspired cocktails and an extensive choice of Japanese whiskeys or sake in the most inviting and sociable of settings.

Alongside our innovative selection of sashimi, salads and small plates, our fresh sushi is served in a variety of creative incarnations including soft-shell crab futomaki roll with kimchi mayo and a tobiko-topped nigiri.

Upstairs in the Kanagaki Suite, we provide an events space and Karaoke bar set to host celebrations and events, from bespoke meetings to the ultimate party.

Robun is the place to relax, unwind and enjoy sharing plates with friends and family. It will definitely leave you wanting more.

Un restaurante común y corriente una comida sin sorpresas y poco creativa, otro japonés sin sabor y sin sentido a precio de gourmet Servicio amable pero poco profesional, chicos jóvenes aparentemente estudiantes con poca experiencia y calidad en servicio

We loved our meal at Robun. The food looked beautiful and was bursting with unusual, delicious and exciting flavours which left our mouths tingling. There were plenty of vegetarian and vegan choices. We chose six plates to share and this was just right. Service was welcoming, friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back

Lovely afternoon tea nice change from normal sandwich and scone . Miso soup very good Nice atmosphere could have done with more oriental music but that's just my taste

Pan Asian restaurant in the heart of Bath. A large selection of sharing dishes. Food was good and tasty. We enjoyed the night. Nothing that we ate was "wow" or "must try", but it was all enjoyable. We would return - but we wouldn't order as many dishes next time (we ordered 8 dishes).

When we arrived at the restaurant we were greeted and asked if we’d like to take off our coats. I said yes of course, coming in from a cold outdoors into the warm, my coat felt like a natural thing to take off. However when I looked back at the host, they did not offer to take them or indicate where to put them so I simply hung my coat up myself. I was willing to let this slide, I’m not a precocious person I can hang up my own coat. We then sat and chose our food and drinks and I will say I did manage to catch the eye of a waitress to note this down early into our experience. We are the type of couple who will choose off the online menu in advance and so I knew we would be faster at choosing than a regular guest. Our meal took around 30-40 minutes to come out which is acceptable. Sushi is a craft not a race. What was baffling to me was that the drinks took just about as long. We had a beer and a sake flight. Again we let this slide, it’s a Friday night, the restaurant’s half full, water under the bridge. The food was delicious. My salmon nigiri and tuna hosomaki was melt in the mouth and delicate. The miso soup was warming and wholesome. The spicy chicken was crisp. The only down side was my partner noted her cucumber maki was a tad dry. When we’d finished these plates we anticipated someone would come over and ask if we wanted anything more. Everyone else in the restaurant was being served and attended to with care (albeit a few dishes being sent back or sent to the wrong tables). Nobody came. We had three plates taken away but the rest were left on our table whilst the waitresses chatted at their station and served the other tables. I would say we wait around 30-40 minutes just to flag someone down for the bill. And when I say flag, my partner had to shout after a waitress who had served the bill to a table behind us to even get us noticed. It was extremely uncomfortable.

Access was difficult , service started off well then fell off once it got busier. Also food was nice but cold and we were asked if we would like deserts and said yes but nobody came up to take our orders after giving us menus. Disappointing and it was really cold sat in the middle with draft from main door.

Food was very tasty, service attentive but on the slow side. Was evident that the table was overloaded with plates but a little bit slow in clearing to make room.. The other minor quibble is that some of the dishes came up with some fairly large chunks so it was quite awkward to deal with. This refers particularly to the aubergine, fantanstic flavour but how do you share up a whole length slive with only a pair of chopsticks? Overall though the food tasted great, the setting very smart and a good vibe. Much more hit than miss

The menu is impressive and food quality and presentation were excellent. The service was also good. However, it was really too expensive, both for the food and for the drinks. For that reason I would be unlikely to return which is a shame.

We had Beef Tataki, Prawn Kaburimaki, Grilled Octopus and Lamb Cutlets. All were tasty and nicely seasoned. Lamb and Kaburimaki were exceptional. Octopus was a bit chewy. Service was good. A bit pricey but for the quality of food that I was getting, I was very happy and would highly recommend Robun.
