Following the enormous success of Zuma London, Rainer Becker quickly recognised the huge popularity of robatayaki cuisine and opened ROKA Charlotte Street, London in 2004. The principal cuisine comes from the Robata grill. Located amid diners the grill forms an integral design element of all the restaurants but more than being a stunning feature, the robata is truly the heart of ROKA.
In 2007, Hamish Brown became the Head Chef of ROKA Charlotte Street. A native New Zealander, Hamish brought with him a great passion for blending the great Asian cuisines that make up the Western Pacific Rim. At ROKA, he has developed the restaurant’s authentic but contemporary menu, fusing his knowledge of Japanese ingredients with his love of quality, seasonal British produce. In 2013, Hamish became Executive Chef of ROKA Group.

Excellent overall experience topped off with vernon’s always warm and consistent attention to detail. ll has put Zuma in the rear view mirror. keeep up the good work!!

The waiter was super busy and overwhelmed at the beginning, but the lady that assisted us with the wine went above expectations and was more “Rola standard” but overall it was good. The restaurant week set menu was outstanding.

Great experience at there. We had restaurants week menu that had a variety of starters, big portion of main and sophisticated desserts. Definitely visit you again!

Overall it was ok. Not the wow factor I've heard off of Roka. Meats just OK quality. I've had better Japanese wagyu. Hotpot with beef was missing a key ingredient less salt... Overall I prefer Netsu at the Mandarin Oriental for a better experience. Underwhelming
