Opening our doors in 1993, Salmon Dave’s has proudly endured as one of Greater Cleveland’s favorite local haunts. With an informal approach to upscale dining, our cozy neighborhood spot has gained a legendary reputation. After a recent head-to-toe renovation, Rocky River’s favorite restaurant is better than ever. The timeless character of the historic building lives on with distressed brick walls, crown moldings, and its signature mahogany bar.     I’ve eaten at this restaurant for many years and I would say about 85% of the time — it’s good. The other 15% is either hit or miss; food is cold… too much salad dressing … bread is stale, etc.

    The seafood is always outstanding and the service is top shelf. A very pleasant dining experience.

    The staff was pleasant and professional. However, the food, including the appetizer (Calamari), was, at best, cool. At these prices, I'd expect at least warm. The wine list seemed very overpriced.

    Great menu and food. Our waitress, Mickey was superb, attentive and charming. Our food and drink were excellent. The only thing that was concerning is you have to walk down a flight of stairs to use the bathrooms.

    We went with a party of 4 on Friday night. Glad we made reservations as it was a full house. I ordered the pan roasted salmon with lobster risotto and it was by far the best meal I have had in a long time. The salmon was perfectly prepared and I could have eaten an entire plate of the risotto. I have a garlic allergy and they accommodated my request. The kitchen manager even brought it out to me. The others ordered the lobster bisque, which is a must at Salmon Daves. They also ordered the lobster and shrimp cappelinni which they all loved. Our server was excellent and she made sure our drinks remained filled! Our meal was outstanding. Make sure you make a reservation!

    I took my son here for the first time and he loved the food. We’ve driven by here for years and he has been asking to go here because he specifically loves salmon. He ends up ordering the cavatelli with lobster and ones it. He tried some of my lobster bisque, loved that too! I had the special, Chilean sea bass, and it was absolutely incredible. The service was amazing. Our server who went by, Bird, was outstanding. Our drinks and waters were always full and she always greeted us with a smile. I’m not one to write review often, but, thank you Bird & Salmon Dave’s for providing us with an outstanding meal and experience. With thanks & appreciation, Mike

    Always reliably good food keeps us coming back, especially when entertaining out of town guests. We liked the cozier vibe of the prior decor but the newer redo is refined and classic. Salmon is their specialty and it’s in the name for a reason - done to perfection with just the right amount of sides. Great service always rounds it off. A bit pricey but that’s okay as long as the food and service remain consistently excellent.

    We love their clam bakes and come every year. Always good service and a nice quiet place to dine. They have the best potato weges!
