Located in a contemporary space of coastal design Salt at Geist has a focus on fresh. A locally owned scratch kitchen and bar specializing in wild and sustainable seafood, sushi, steaks, hand crafted cocktails along with an extensive wine list, Salt at Geist prides itself on creating unique dining experiences. The restaurant has quickly become a hot spot for casual after work cocktails, late night cocktails on the patio, social plate sharing, business dinners, special occasions, private dining and rehearsal dinners. Being so close to the reservoir, Salt at Geist ensured the environment, while polished, is still inviting to those getting off the boat to come in for a cocktail and dinner.

Always a wonderful experience. Service, cuisine options, creativity, and ambience. Without compare. The only problem is what to order - so many wonderful options to choose from . A great problem to have. Always a treat to visit Salt at Geist!

Rose was the best server and went above and beyond to make our date night special! It was our first time in and we are looking forward to going back!

This was so disappointing. I booked Salt Geist two weeks ago for my bday dinner for 6/7 Sat night 7 pm. The hostesses were catty to each other and stressed although there were only a couple people in line. We were seated in the glass patio at a table with 1 chair and a dirty table they quickly put together as we stood there. Hostess asked a runner to get us water which he did. We never got menus until my husband pulled dirty ones from a stand behind us. Our waitress finally came and asked if anyone had helped us about 20 minutes later. She was pleasant and knowledgeable. At 7:45 we still didn’t have any food. Our apps were finally delivered to the table beside us and they went to tell someone that they already had their crab cakes and didn’t order bread. The runner that came was confused and finally picked the dishes up and we flagged him down they were ours. Bread was hot and amazing with the butter unfortunately this was the best thing I had. The crab cakes were by far the smallest I’ve ever seen for two for $25 and were no better than places far less prestigious known for seafood. A while later our food came delivered again to the wrong table and we flagged them down this time. My daughter’s bisque was cold. My scallops again were underwhelming for a $42 meal. 4 of the smallest I’ve ever seen and undercooked. The chili sauce was good. I ate only 2. The risotto was good. My husband had the smallest amount of potatoes with his fish but did say his fish was amazing. $230 later and 90 minutes we went to Bar Ellis for dessert. We will not be back nor recommend this spot.

Hostess and wait staff need training. Although reservation made and arrived on time, multiple parties seated after our arrival. Two hostesses seemed to be bickering with one another. Food quality was excellent; however, Miso Cod was not very flavorful. Empty plates and multiple glasses sat on table without removal. Ultimately, we moved them to an empty table to allow space for dessert. This is a local restaurant and we will return but staff training and a manager walk-around would be helpful.

This was our third time dining at Salt at Geist in the past two months, and each time we’ve been incredibly happy with our experience. Our server, Claire, was attentive, informative and fun. The food was delicious- our table had the Kung Pao Rock Shrimp and Beet Salad to start. For dinner we ordered the Sushi special (fantastic…I’ve ordered the Sushi special each visit and it’s been amazing every time), Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, and the Shrimp and Grits. Everyone was very happy with their meals. The desserts were amazing too. Our water glasses never got below half full before they were refilled. Dishes were removed in a timely manner and everyone was accommodating and friendly. This is the same experience we’ve had each time. We will definitely be back! Salt is quickly becoming one of our favorites!

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Salt from the warm greeting to the complimentary birthday dessert we shared. Our server, Rose was delightful and attentive, knowledgeable of the menu and quick to answer questions. The meal was served at a leisurely pace, perfect for our birthday celebration. My husband was beyond thrilled with the Chilean Sea Bass and my Halibut Olympic was delicious. The Bananas Foster Bread Pudding was the perfect note on which to finish our meal. I am happy to give Salt a 5-star recommendation.

Salt completely exceeded our expectations. It is challenging to find good seafood in Indiana and since Salt flys in their seafood daily it is exceptionally fresh. We both ordered the catch of the day which was a red fish topped with crab Oscar all on top of their lobster risotto with a tomato sauce and it was INCREDIBLE. We also ordered the hamachi crudo and the crab Rangoon as appetizers - both were amazing. The hamachi was incredibly fresh and the crab Rangoon made with real crab was a game changer. The cocktails we ordered were fantastic. Our server was great at explaining the menu and dishes since it was our first time there and made great recommendations. We both agree that it is one of our new favorite restaurants in the area and we will definitely be back!

This was my second time dining at this location. Everything was wonderful. I had the tuna with asparagus. Delicious. I also got a half wedge, but should’ve went with the full. It was a bit tiny. My only complaint is the coffee I ordered with my dessert was not hot at all. I wanted to ask for a hotter cup of coffee but it started to get busy and I didn’t want to bother with it.
