Originally built in 1887 as the third post office in Queensland, the iconic Sandgate Post Office has a new lease on life. Stylish and quintessentially Sandgate, it is a destination venue with an elegant gastro-pub restaurant, a vibrant main bar, a whiskey vault and sun-soaked alfresco dining.

Standing proud in Sandgate for 135 years, the heritage of the building has been embraced with a renovation that honours the role the Post Office has had in the community for over a century. Located on the corner of Bowser Parade and Rainbow Street across the road from the Sandgate rail station, it is once again set to be a landmark for the Sandgate community.

From your first sip, to the last bite, go on a journey of good food, great service and Sandgate hospitality.

We are well known for our rotisserie meats, steaks, sandcrab lasagne and gluten free food/desserts.

If you cancel within 24 hours of your reservation, there is a $40 pp cancellation fee. If you or any number of your party do not show on the day of the reservation, there is no refund.

Booked and pre-paid for valentines dinner on open table. Showed up and the post office hotel closed! I want a refund please. Won’t be going back if it re-opens.

The venue is closed but still taking bookings. Many disappointed couples arriving on valentines night only to be met but a building closed, no staff in sight and sign saying that they are sorry for the inconvenience

Great lunchtime venue! It was a quiet day - but we didnt mind at all. The service was fabulous! Friendly, helpful and meals brought out in a good amount of time. Will definitely be going back!

One of our most favourite places to visit. The food is always outstanding. Wonderful services and lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Air con was too hot for a hot night. Trivia was good but a bench seat was hard for a group. I asked for water jugs and glasses three times before trivia and it was only once it had started that the staff put them out. They should be there before trivia as I spent too long waiting to ask for this
