‘Great British food in a striking riverside mill’

A true hidden gem, Sculthorpe Mill is a breath taking pub buried in the heart of the glorious Norfolk countryside built atop the River Wensum. Originally a watermill dating back to 1757, it has been lovingly restored by sisters Siobhan and Caitriona Peyton and they have created a haven for foodies and pub lovers alike, as well as one of the best pub gardens in Norfolk. This is a stunning contemporary dining pub, complete with chic bedrooms and a menu of expertly crafted modern British dishes.

Sculthorpe Mill’s seasonal menu changes regularly to make the most of Norfolk’s bountiful produce and all our core ingredients are locally sourced, foraged from land and sea before being passionately turned into award-winning dishes.

Come spring and summer, our garden is the ideal pace to enjoy an evening meal alfresco, or even just a crisp glass of rosé as you listen to the rush of the river or the buzzing of bees in the flower garden.

This is our second visit to Sculthorpe mill and it’s not disappointed, service is friendly and well organised. Food is priced slightly higher but it’s fantastic and worth the extra cost. The atmosphere was great and location is superb. Worth the drive out to visit and eat here. Rib of beef is amazing!

We eat out a lot. Booked this for Mother’s Day and this was the best Sunday lunch I can remember anywhere. The sharing plates are sensational.

Staff were extremely attentive during the busy Mothers Day lunchtime session. I arrived early but was seated immediately. Staff were friendly and professional. The food arrived very quickly and I thoroughly enjoyed both courses.

Good prompt service. Delicious food and good value! The lamb dish was lovely and so too the chocolate mousse for dessert! Will come back again definitely!

We visited in March and we were not disappointed super friendly staff the food was absolutely amazing can’t wait to sit in the beautiful garden in the summer months enjoying a delicious non-alcoholic cocktail and some fresh seasonal produce. P.S - splashing out on the oysters is a must I wish I’d ordered 12 for a table of two - Outstanding
