El Serafina, inaugurado en 1991, es un íntimo restaurante local ubicado en Eastlake, entre la universidad y el centro. Sus paredes de color ocre, que recuerdan al paisaje de la Toscana, su ambiente íntimo y sensual, su comedor en el jardín al aire libre y su auténtica cocina italiana lo convierten en el restaurante favorito del estrecho de Puget y más allá. Went here for Valentine’s Day dinner with my girlfriend. Food and wine were great along with ambiance. I was surprised by the mandatory 20% gratuity on top of the 4.5% service charge. It didn’t say anywhere on the website or on the menu about the gratuity. The food and service were great, but not worth 24.5% of an already expensive dinner.

I don’t really leave bad reviews, if something is not for me, it could be for someone else. Unfortunately the meal I had a serafina was so intensely disappointing I find it hard to believe someone else would enjoy it. The service was wonderful, 10/10 across the board. The plating was beautiful! The appetizers were fine, nothing very memorable but not bad. For the main course, we had the maiale (which again, plated so wonderfully), and the braised short ribs. It was more like a very thick cut of brisket, and very very dry. It was also served with a parsnip puree which was so sweet it could have been a dessert. the two did not pair well at all. again, I had a great time at this place otherwise, interior was gorgeous and service from manager to servers was perfect, but the food was a major let down.

We live a couple blocks away and come here at least a couple times a year, especially when friends and family visit. Great quality restaurant and the atmosphere is unmatched. A Seattle institution.

We had a wonderful experience. Our server was wonderful, the food amazingly good (as always at Serafina) and the atmosphere was just right. Highly recommended!
