Reflecting the charm of its surrounding neighborhood, Shangri-la is a distinctive space in Fair Oaks that serves seasonal, contemporary American fare, along with handcrafted cocktails in a unique setting.

With modernist architectural design, fire pits and classic cocktails from an indoor/outdoor bar, Shangri-la is a full-service restaurant and private events venue that feels like a Palm Springs resort. We have two beautiful indoor dining rooms as well as a 6,500 sq. foot patio featuring bocce ball (adults only) and corn hole (all ages) and full-service seating inside and outside. (Voted Best patio and Best restaurant by Sac Magazine). Well behaved pups are also welcome on our patio when weather permits.

Our first time eating here. Joined friends for a delightful night. Excellent food, excellent wait staff, spectacular mid mod ambiance, delicious cocktails. We had a wonderful experience in the dining room, and can’t wait to come back so we can enjoy the outdoor patio when it stops raining. We highly recommend Shangri-la!

We had fish tacos and hamburgers with truffle fries. All was delicious. We ate inside. The old fashioned drink was very tasty.

Fantastic getaway for a Friday night. Service was very friendly and the only suggestions would be to add a little more variety to the menu for the main courses possibly a pasta option. It was a fun night.

No happy hour & cocktails are a bit steep at $16. The patio warmer ran out of propane so it was cold sitting outside while raining. Overall, food was very good and our party had a lot of fun!

Staff were incredibly attentive and responsive. The menu was concise but offered something for everyone. We will be coming back for sure.

I wanted to love this place so badly. Had a dinner date with my sister and I ordered the steak dish medium well but it came very well done. After 30 minutes of trying to get the waiter to come back to the table (there were only 4 tables so it wasn’t super busy) I gave up. After this time I finally was able to tell him I had not touched my plate besides cutting the steak to make sure it wasn’t well done. He has the manager come over who then proceeded to tell me how they cook their steak as if I didn’t know how steak was cooked. Anyway, bad experience needless to say.

Wonderful all-around! Great service and food; some of the best French fries and a generous portion as well. Crispy Brussels sprouts were a perfect start.

We requested outside seating and were greeted with good seating with a view of the pleasant surroundings. Our server Ian was prompt, courteous and friendly! We had the delicious Deviled Eggs, with our cocktails and later ordered the New York Steak dinners that showed promptly and were excellently prepared! The steaks stole the show with a great spicy red sauce and nestled atop creamy mashed potatoes with grilled Broccoli! We arrived early and as more people showed up the ambiance slowly deteriorated as the noise level became difficult to hear our conversations as we were under the edge of a metal roofed Pavilion. Still we all agreed we had a great meal and great time, we all will return!
