   Short on staff host was also our server and bar man. congenial and apologized. two in party attending for Birthday Food just ok. server asked if we needed salt and pepper, but we never got- so we had to find him and ask again. no jam or butter for toast. all in all not a good celebration. Waited a while to get bar drinks, no water refil or coffee refill either. will not be back. Hotel lovely, bet guests were not pleased to eat meals there. I know it might be slow on a Sunday morn, but hotel should not be open for breakfast and maybe just have to go breskfast snacks and coffee included in room rate.

   Show Pony is a new hidden gem in KC! Chef Olson previously worked for the American. Starting with the basics, reservations were easy to get because the restaurant is new. Parking is a few steps away in the up and coming river front area, the space is beautifully decorated, and it is very quiet! The drink menu has a handful of craft cocktails and some well curated wines. The food is beautifully done! The menu is short and none of the dishes appealed to me at first glance; however, I was amazed. The server suggested sharing both the small plates and large plates and I am so glad we did! The cheese ring was Devine and hearty. A very unique dish that I could have eaten all night. The panzella salad had wonderful flavor and texture. The crown chicken was a chicken coated with a light sausage sitting on the most amazing pumpkin risotto. The pork cheek was tasty with an impressive stuffed apple and my favorite was the chickpea gnocchi. We topped off the night with their light homemade gelatos and chocolate ganache. We are ready to go back again tonight!

   Such a cute place! The brunch menu was amazing. The service was amazing. I can’t wait to sit on their patio grabbing a drink before or after a KC Current game.

   Lovely casual little restaurant with a nice outdoor space. Started with the Greta cocktail, tasty and not overly sweet. We shared the Pakora Fritter - you get 4 and they were crispy and unique with the chutney in them. The labneh is like a creamy yogurt, almost cream cheese. Also ordered the Tortellini and I really loved the flavor of the sauce. My preference would be to cook one more minute on them but they were not too al dente. We had the Cobia, which I would say the white fish is similar to a cod fish. It was wrapped in seaweed but with a soft texture to bite into them. The fish is mild. We ended with the Chocolate Ganache dessert. The ganache and gelato work together so well, very delicious! The Chocolate Pavlova was a bit too hard. Staff and service were great. I suspect the menu changes often but I like how they incorporate different cultures of food. Plenty of parking.

   Food was very good and our service was amazing. My chicken was a little undercooked and I asked the server to have them check. Afterwards she and another gentleman made sure it was satisfactory. It was really was delicious. The cheese ring was yummy and the kale Caesar was delicious too.

   No doubt the chef and matrǐe d’ are top notch talent. Every dish was well concepted, presented and balanced. The Valentine’s Day prix fixe menu was terrific and at $180 a reasonable price for the quality of food. The service was, in a word, apalling. Barely a word was spoken by our server to explain or take our order. No explanation of the menu or wine pairing option. Our oysters were fabulous. An hour after we were served that course we finally got our salad course, and waited ten more minutes for silverware and offered a second drink. Asked if we had been served desert before our mains arrived. As we were eating our mains, desert was brought and then taken back. Five minutes after our main was served we asked the maǐtre d’ for silverware. Mains were exceptional. Desert came out, with extra spoons this time. Desert was wonderful. It was apparent other tables also struggled with service-wrong checks at the table next to us, allergens served to an adjacent table after they had communicated them. As we settled the md had a very nice convo with us and we shared feedback. I appreciate they are only a couple of months open, but for this upscale menu, service must match. If you are vocal about service then the food is absolutely worth it — this matched any other plate I’ve had in KC. But I cannot stress how miserable service was on what should have been a romantic, easy evening.

   Valentine’s Day dinner was overpriced for the quality of food. Salad was very average. The sole was overcooked but the sauce was absolutely delicious. The wine pairings were amazing. In all, overpriced for an average meal.

   I am shocked at all the good reviews here. My experience was completely the opposite. There are many good restaurants in Kansas City … this is NOT one of them .
