   Ok, but not good value. Also very quiet for a Saturday night, which perhaps says something about its reputation.

   Hi Susan - We're not sure how busy we're meant to be in mid-winter, but the feedback will certainly help entice new guests to dine with us and make for a more vibrant(?) dining experience. Quiet saturday, compared to other rural country house restaurants? Not good value, compared to where? Interesting. We'd always love to be busier on wet winter nights and feel that your contructive feedback will really allow us to grow. Thank you.

   Extremely disappointed. We had checked the price of food and the menu before deciding to book this as a valentines night treat but the menu and pricing was completely different when we arrived. The food was pub standard and the price of the mains were double what we had previously anticipated. Disappointing.

   Hi Chris - We're not sure what you had seen or expected on a fully-booked Valentine's night - but we're really surprised to see your rating alongside great feedback from other guests on this date - we had publicised our Valentines menus! It's a shame that this didn't meet with your expectation or budget on Valentine's night, (we loved the atmosphere; candle-lit dining and clinking glasses) but would remind all guests that special dates like this (for which you had come out to celebrate) merit special menus, such as that which was available on Valentines night -- £69 for a four course meal, is, we think, truly great value and relative to other great local place to eat! We'd really challenge the "pub standard", but of course there are some truly super foodie pubs out there!

   We have been coming to Simonstone since 2011. The welcome and the food have always been of the highest standard. The Sunday lunch menu doesn't give any choice but this was early February so I wouldn't expect this. The food was excellent.

   Started off really well we had a drink in the bar and looked at the menus. The bar had a nice ambiance and an open fire making feel cosy. The dining room looked great and was busy when we arrived but it was so cold we couldn't really relax. The food wasn't great and there was only two people on front of house so they were stretched. They didn't check back to see how are food was at any point during our meal and when we paid they didn't ask how things had been for us. For the price, it should have been better.

   Hi Jane - Thanks for the feedback. Some content would tell us that perhaps you work in the industry (checkback expectation, FOH, etc)-- so it's great to hear from you. We're sorry that you didnt feel that any aspect of your evening was worthy of more than a 3.0 rating, this is very disappointing. One of the biggest challenges facing the industry is the newer trend for short-notice bookings, this means that we can be a lot busier than expcted - as it was, on the Saturday of your visit, we weren't over-stretched, with three front of house staff, including barman and good table pacing. The overriding feedback from other diners was VERY POSITIVE! For the price, we would challenge anyone to find better value vs quality in a restaurant locally! Thanks again for the public rating.

   Great venue and great restaurant. Upon arrival the hosts were very welcoming and friendly. Had a drink in the bar area first and were given menus but we were not rushed at all. The food was really good, both starters and both mains could not be faulted with my Wife describing the market fish main course the best fish dish she’s ever had ! We both feel the restaurant could have been a little warmer but this would not put us off returning.

   The food here is lovely, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the place itself is stunning. We will definitely be going back.

   I thoroughly enjoyed my meals at Simonstone. The team accommodated several special requests and the preparation was both creative and tasty. Great professional/personable service.

   Always a lovely experience having dinner at Simonstone Hall. The food was excellent and the service friendly, attentive and professional.

    Would highly recommend, all the team were super friendly. Lovely food and drink and great atmosphere, definitely worth a visit.
