The Sir John Balcombe is a friendly and inviting city bar located in London, traditional yet modern this pub will take you to a little home away from home. With our amazing food and even better service, we are the perfect venue for any occasion whether it's enjoying a drink while enjoying the sport or it's a family get-together for some amazing food. We have a huge range of premium lagers, cask ales, and ciders but we also have a spirit emporium packed with gins, rum, and tequila and we can’t forget our artisan cocktails and superb coffee! Our food is all about Great British classics with our Gloucester old spot sausages and mashes to our homemade steak and ale pie however you will find we offer some amazing desserts and some lighter dishes too! No matter your cravings, we know we’ve got something you will just love...

Very good local vibe. Pretty busy, but not overly loud. Stick to inexpensive dishes as it's standard quality food rather than gastro pub worthy.

Lovely pub but the good and service was a total letdown. We waited over an hour for the food and was unable to order from the Christmas menu (which was on the website). I ordered cod and chips which was overcooked (after such a long wait).

Enjoyed the evening although one chicken dish was not cooked through. The staff were extremely apologetic and brought a fresh dish with a free drink to compensate. It happens sometimes but they were really mortified and made up for it. No harm done. Tasty food and good wines. Overall a good experience and despite the hiccup we would return.

Very nice pub, staff and good atmosphere. We had the pie which was very good, well priced, and the service was prompt despite it being busy. Only downside was the cost of the drinks, £15.50 for 1 Lager & a glass of wine, but given the location it wasn’t unexpected. Overall, well worth a visit.

The place was packed when we arrived but got quieter by the time the food arrived. The food was tasty and what you would expect from a gastro pub. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

80% of food options on the menu were not available, which hadn’t been clear at time of booking nor when we sat down and were given menus. The lady behind the bar was rude and her customer service practically non-existent. Such a shame because the pub itself is lovely inside and the location is perfect

Ambience and service was good. Arrived at 7.15pm and many items on the food menu were unavailable. However the food ordered was nice.
