We love the simplicity of seasonal and local ingredients. Modern dining and ancient techniques such as smoking, curing and preserving are at the heart of our restaurant. These aspects motivate us as well as bringing in other global flavours, ingredients, and cuisines. In this way, we try to reflect the diversity and multiculturality of South London and the UK through our food. We are a Catey and Time Out Love London award-winning restaurant with mentions in the Good Food Guide and the esteemed Michelin Guide.

We are pleased to offer one of the cheapest tasting menu experiences in London too - so don't hesitate to book us for your next special occasion.

Guests will be offered our five OR seven course sharing menus only with options available for dietary requirements only.

We had a fabulous lunch at Smoke & Salt, the food was delicious with some unusual and interesting ingredients. The server was knowledgeable and friendly. We also enjoyed the selection of wines paired with the dishes.

Very interesting meal with some real high points. Service is excellent. You can tell the care that is taken with each course. Worth a regular visit to try each seasonal menu.

Absolutely amazing! The food, the atmosphere and the incredible staff. They were so accommodating to a dairy intolerance and a birthday. I will definitely be returning

Delicious burger, perfect ratio. Chips were great and well seasoned. BBQ sauce in particular stood out as a fantastic sauce. Staff all brilliant. Phenomenal work all round

An interesting concept. We had the five course menu. Two of the courses were really good - the kale tempura and the chocolate pudding. The carrot course was too carroty! - two large carrots cooked al dente with no particular flavour. It could have done with one less carrot and a bit more flavour. And the smoked turkey which was a plate of two very large lumps of very salty turkey with a bit of bbq sauce. The big lumps of meat were quite unappetising and too salty to finish. Our table was right by the washing up station so very noisy with the crashing of crockery. They had loud rock music playing, not sure if it was intended to drown out the washing-up! The service was excellent, very friendly and fun. We were offered a glass of fizz to apologise for the fact that our first course was slow in coming - we hadn’t realised there was a delay in serving us. So I think it depends very much on the menu that night. It’s quite pricey so I’m not sure I’d try it again as the menu feels a bit hit and miss - when it’s good, it’s great, but some dishes missed the mark and it’s expensive for that to be a possibility.

It’s hard to justify calling it a seven course menu when it includes the bread, a plate of carrots (which should have really been with the steak) and a palate cleansing sorbet. The service lacked rhythm it was too slow so we ended up losing interest in the food. The food in itself was okay, the cod and steak were good. I love the idea of having something like this in tooting but to me it missed the mark. Paying £240 and not being satiated is a shame.
