Named for Queen Sophia Charlotte, Sophia’s offers a royally outfitted setting in the heart of Uptown on 5th Street in The Ivey’s Hotel.

Must be 21 or over to enter after 8:00pm on Friday and Saturday nights.

To maintain an elegant and sophisticated experience for all our guests, we encourage Casual Elegant attire when visiting us. Hats/Caps, Shorts, Sweatpants, Athletic Attire, Tank Tops, Clothing with Offensive Language or Images, Exposed Undergarments, and Flip-Flops are prohibited

Sophia's Lounge is located in The Ivey's hotel in uptown Charlotte. And it's certainly not just another bland hotel restaurant. We’ve stayed in many beautiful hotels around the world and The Ivey’s in Charlotte, NC is a rare find. It’s in a great location across the street from the Belk Theater and is an easy walk to all the great Uptown spots. The French design with its beautiful reclaimed wood floors, rugs, decor, and eclectic design make it a truly special place. We had both dinner and breakfast in Sophia's Lounge and both meals were quite excellent! In addition to great food, the staff was really fantastic. Due to an impending snowstorm, I was on the phone with Savannah a couple of times ensuring that our reservations were properly made. She was amazing! For our dinner in Sophia’s Lounge, Savanna also handled service at our table. At breakfast, Lynn and Ashley were just lovely! I can't begin to explain how wonderful these three staff members were - kudos to them for outstanding service. They enhanced our visits so very much! The food in Sophia's Lounge was quite excellent. We had dinner there and the small plates were delicious. Breakfast was also quite wonderful. Everything was perfectly prepared, beautifully plated, and quite tasty. Our cocktails were excellent as were the wines we enjoyed. We will certainly be back.

The atmosphere here is very luxurious. My wife and I went here for a date night. It feels like an old school speak easy and the cocktails are top notch. I ordered their old fashion and it was made perfectly with the largest clearest ice brick I’ve ever seen!!! My wife and I shared the wagyu sliders and the truffle fries, absolutely amazing and I’m a huge burger and fries guy in my house!! It’s a must go.

It was okay! Atmosphere was great. It’s so beautiful and the history is awesome. Service is pretty sub par. If you sit at the bar it might be better, but we had a reservation and had a request and it wasn’t met. The service was super slow as well. But if that doesn’t bother you, it’s beautiful and a really cute spot!

The atmosphere is amazing, location is too! They were short staffed and I completely understand . We had a short time so it was a tad stressful.

The sports tv sets DEFINITELY lower the experience in Sophia’s l. Highly recommend the tvs be put into a smaller, less conspicuous area for those who, heaven forbid, absolutely cannot enjoy an evening without staring at a tv screen. Sophia’s can elevate itself away from the lowered quality of Sports Bar by putting the tv reception in a small discrete area.
