   First time at new location. Very nice decor and ambiance. Service was also very good. The food we ordered was very good. The fried chicken was better than anything I have found in restaurants. The collards and sweet potato fries were very good. My wife’s shrimp were large and juicy. A very good experience.

   We had a great dinner at Southen Kitchen. The collards were extremely tender and tasty. The fried chicken and pork chops were delicious. We also had the peach cobbler which was awesome. The atmosphere was relaxed, even the music was calm not too loud…it was comfortable. Our waiter was knowledgeable and helped us with our order answering all of our questions. All in all it was a wonderful experience and we can’t wait to go again.

   Took my wife this weekend, she loved it! We saw the owner and she was pleasant and genuine! We be back in a few weeks lol

   I saw a TikTok review recommending Southern Kitchen in Richmond, VA and as a result I took my mom to Southern Kitchen for her 82nd birthday. We both got the chicken livers with onions and gravy. Hers over rice and I order no rice with a side of cheese grits. We also ordered the cornbread appetizer. I ordered the appetizer for my mom because I am not a cornbread lover. However, I did taste, and it was absolutely delicious. It is a must have. The chicken livers were tender, and the seasoning was perfect. The restaurant had light jazz playing and the ambiance was really nice. It is a perfect date night or girls' night out spot. You will not be disappointed. BTW I ordered the apple cobbler for dessert it was good, but my crust could have been browner. My mom ordered the spoon bread, and she said it was good. The desserts were okay but wasn't exactly to our taste. The service was A1. The server came to the table with water, two straws and extra napkins without asking. Additionally, when our iced tea and lemonade was delivered to the table received two additional straws without asking. I know these are small things but big when it comes to service. I will definitely be back.

   This was our first time for Happy Hour and it was great! Food, service and drinks exceeded our expectations.

    Just visiting the area and my husband tried to get them to start a franchise in Delaware...lol! Our food was delicious! Shrimp and grits and collard greens! The server was lovely, and fast! Too full for dessert but the peach bread pudding sounded sinful!
