Welcome to The Stile Bridge, we have recently re-opened under new ownership and management following our sister restaurant "The Poet at Matfield".
We serve food lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Sunday, serving drinks & Bar snacks all day.
We source all our produce locally, finding inspiration from South America, Asia, South Africa and Europe to bring together a "New World" menu with Wines from across the earth to compliment your meal.

Join us every Wednesday evening for our Steak and Wine night. Our Chefs dry age our Argentinian beef and finish it off in the kitchen to perfection. To keep your tastebuds dancing we pair it with our beautiful malbec. At £30 per person there is not a better deal around.

Another great meal at this local gem. This time it was a Valentines tasting menu offering and all the courses delighted. Of special note were the scallops with smoked eel and then the halibut... beautifully cooked. Not forgetting the white chocolate petit fours... exquisite! A word about the service - fantastic. Will keep returning for sure

A fabulous meal with every attention to detail in evidence. The food is of the highest standard & superbly presented. Took my 10 year old niece for her birthday & the staff were just delightful with her. The chef came out to talk to her personally as she is very interested in food & does a lot of cooking. Sooo impressed. Beautiful dining area with big roaring fire. What more could you want. I can’t recommend it highly enough

We love this place - the food is always so full of flavour and special. The staff are all really friendly and attentive. Such a great calming atmosphere - never feel rushed and always good value - the chef and all the staff are a credit to the stilebridge - thank you for a lovely time ❤️

Outstanding in every way! We love it here (best Sunday lunch!) and thought we’d have a Saturday lunch. Loved it. Food was fantastic and service just as good! Great selection of wines and gins too! Will be back!

Great food. Very quiet on a Thursday evening, apart from all the dogs! Very cold in the restaurant.

Food was amazing, each member of the party had something different and everyone remarked how delicious it was and well prepared. The service was second to none, they were attentive and the staff were genuinely very pleasant, polite and friendly and genuinely looked like they wanted to be there and enjoyed their job. If I had to pick holes it wasn't exactly toasty inside and I wish I'd brought a jumper (but it was about minus 5 outside so maybe just took me a while to warm up, nobody else in the party complained about this) and there was a family with a baby that kept screaming next to us, but you can hardly hold that against the restaurant or staff (just bad luck), apart from that the atmosphere was nice. Thanks for a lovely evening!

Once again, a brilliant meal, with excellent wine, in very friendly and cordial circumstances. And /l- especially given the quality of the food - great value for money. Highly recommended.
