    I am a long-time fan of Sullivan’s but my most recent visit to their Wilmington, DE restaurant did not live up to expectations. I ordered the shrimp and lobster bisque, New York strip, and bananas foster bread pudding from the prix fixe menu. My companions both ordered filet mignon from the main dinner menu. We shared crispy shanghai calamari as an appetizer and the white cheddar & bacon au gratin potatoes (without lobster) as a side. The calamari was tender and tasty but many/most of the pieces arrived without the “crispy” coating. The bisque was overly peppery and lacked a rich seafood flavor. All of our steaks were cooked as ordered and were very good. My strip steak, however, was served without the bourbon peppercorn sauce. One of my companions ordered the gorgonzola butter which was a delicious complement to her filet. The au gratin potatoes were served hot and were very good. The bananas foster bread pudding was okay, but nothing special. Service was friendly and adequate. Overall, the experience was fine but left me wanting more from a restaurant at this price point.

    we came here for dinner to celebrate my husband’s birthday and it was a great experience. our server Russell was extremely attentive and kind and our meals were delicious. the dessert especially was out of this world!

    We’ve been going to Sullivan’s since 1997! It’s our go to bar restaurant! Awesome ambience, service is usually top notch, their signature “Knock Out” Martini is the best around! For a period since 2020 the restaurant went shall I say, down hill… clientele to service but over the past year or so it’s made a tremendous comeback! No it’s not “top of the line Del Frisco’s” but for a time there it was along the lines but then dropped to an average restaurant. I think the menu has improved, the service definitely improved but I miss the svelte waitresses in black skirts & fancy tights & the waiters that were also so called “eye candy” as my wife and daughter put it. Although they’ve made the restaurant for the “common folk” it’s missing its luster but it’s coming back I think . Anyway, Alyssa our waitress tonight was “Better than the meal and drinks” she made the night! Her service was impeccable, over the top and outstanding. She was conscientious, observant and pleasant! By far the “BEST” service we’ve had there in a few years! The girl deserves a raise but not a promotion b/c we need her serving no managing! But “show her the MONEY!” I’ll be requesting Alyssa from now on!!! and I have a huge referral base! Doc & Pam

    Our yearly tradition did not disappoint for the most part. Holly our server was sweet and very friendly. The calamari was delicious…. Not breaded, very tender and the sauce was delicious. The ONLY complaint I have is this : all potato options, other than a backed potato, contained lobster…… my husband is allergic to lobster. So he couldn’t eat mashed, AU gratin or Mac and cheese because they ALL contain lobster. Perhaps having lobster as an addition could better serve more people who want a potato dish as a side.     Our experience was a rememberable one. We must have had the best waitress in the place. The food was fantastic! A bit noisy but it was because it was New Year’s Eve. Thank you so much for making our anniversary special.

    Started out waiting 30min for a table in a crowded doorway, and we had a reservation along with the other patrons waiting. While waiting the bar service was lacking (service and quality of drinks). We then sat at the table for 20min waiting to find out which waitress was for our table and turned out to be all of them. The icing on the cake was that the food was meh and the angry shrimp was not edible. We were seated in an extension of the restaurant which also served as the storage area. The ‘new years eve experience’ was lacking with no live music as advertised and wait staff just getting people in and out for dinner. We will not be dining there again.

    We really liked the variety of the menu. It was NYE and the restaurant was full. Dings: they were out of components for a Vieux Carré (on the drink menu) for a 5:30pm reservation, the shrimp cocktail was a tad underdone and we had to ask well into the meal for bread. The smoked rosemary old fashioned was an apt substitute and the other things happen sometimes. A little rush her, a miscommunication there. In the plus side we had a fantastic table, the service was just right and we had a great meal together. Overall a good experience and we’ll come back. So much more on the menu to explore.
