This is a charming restaurant. I really enjoyed the delicious food which reminded me why I love Turkey. It is a small restaurant which felt pleasantly intimate. Great service. I recommend Taksim.

The 7-course prix fixe menu at Taksim is a splendid offering. Great flavors and dishes you don't normally find. The patlican (eggplant) and blackened cauliflower were standouts for us. Choose the beef over the branzino. It's a much better dish all around. I don't usually eat dessert but the Taksim donuts were not too sweet or too large and served with chocolate ice cream, five-spice chocolate and chantilly. Delicious! The restaurant is off the beaten path but it's worth making a trip down Fourth Street.

Delightful time at Taksim. I started with two cocktails that were quite inventive and might have been bitter had they not balanced them properly. As it was, they were both quite nice. The cauliflower cream soup was very very lightly spiced but was smoooth and had enough flavor to give a great aftertaste. The lamb chops were perfect! And the service was solicitous yet not pompous. Go to Taksim!

This is a charming space- and the food is out of this world. The people who work there are obviously passionate about showing off Turkish food and they went out of their way to explain everything. We felt very attended to and the food was great and very reasonably priced!

Our dinner last night at Taksim was a big success. We have been looking for a fun restaurant within walking distance our SOMA apartment. The Turkish food choices were interesting and delicious. There were enough appetizers, salads and main courses to interest all four of us. The chicken and the branzino were delicious as were the trio of dips and the chickpea fries. The wait staff were attentive. We especially enjoyed Abban who tracked down answers to our questions, provided wine samples and made us feel welcome in the restaurant. We look forward to more delicious food and hope to try to the tasting menu soon.

Loved our meal. Branzino was crispy skin and tender inside just like I like it. Flower bread was yummy and little gem salad was very good.

We had their seven course tasting menu for $55 which has to be on the top of best values in San Francisco at this time. All the food was terrific .The only annoying thing is the so-called health tax or whatever it is. It started at 4% then it went to five. Then it went to 6 and now it's 7%. Seems that there's no end in sight. Reminds me of the vat in Europe!

Definitely a must have experience. Perfect place for a date night and we have the 7 course meal which was well worth the price. The food and customer service was excellent. I’ve paid four times more for a 7 course meal but this one topped them all.

It’s great to see another interesting addition to the dining scene. We loved the lamb carpaccio and then had the best lamb chops in the city this trip- perfect marination and cooking went with delicious rice! And in case you’re not convinced, start with the great selection of cocktails and Turkish wines.
