Terra Moderna is an Antipodean, Modern Italian restaurant in Belsize Park. Open daily for lunch and dinner, the restaurant brings a combined taste of Italy and Australia to London. Terra Moderna's menu is carefully crafted to balance the flavours of Italian and Antipodean cooking. The restaurant take pride in their commitment of using the freshest, locally sourced ingredients. Wonderful house-made pasta and focaccia. Inventive starters. Great cocktail list (all the classics! Sazerac! Manhattan! Negroni!) and wine list. On a quiet neighborhood-y street between Chalk Farm and Belize Park. We'll be back!

This was my second visit, and although the restaurant was full – it was a Friday night – and that among my guests was my 98-year old mother, the experience could not have been better. The staff were exceptionally helpful, and made us feel very welcome although we had arrived a bit early, and the food was delicious - as good as I remembered it from my previous visit. My three guests are all keen to return, and I would say it is way the best restaurant in the Hampstead/Belsize Park area.

A fifth visit to Terra Moderna. This time with visitors from abroad. Can’t fault it. Well done to the owners for sticking at it. You’ve arrived at the right formula. Becoming a favourite. Service was perfect. Attentive but not intrusive. Food was excellent, pasta portions seem to be more generous and needed to be, each course delicious. Will be back.

We had probably the best seat - a cosy table in the window. It took a long time for someone to take our order for drinks, so by the time they returned we gave our full order. The food was quick to come out. Most of the food was good - the yellowtail carpaccio, beef tartare, steak and pasta. The halibut main was dry and overcooked. When our desserts were served we were told we had 10 minutes left before a new table arrived at 9pm so we were rushed out the door, with a £400 bill for four people (entree, main, dessert, 1 bottle of wine). We had no other warning of the restricted time slot - not at the time of booking, on entering the restaurant, or at any other earlier point in the meal. Our table was cosy but the rest of the restaurant lacked ambience and I'd describe the decor as sterile. On the way to the bathroom the bar was being used to stack dirty dishes which gave a poor impression. I booked this restaurant for the convenient location and based on good reviews but it was disappointing.

Came here for dinner and had a good meal - service was a little scattered and didn't get the warmest or most helpful interaction from the host but overall it was a good meal. The miso-glazed halibut was delicious and the pumpkin ravioli was good but would probably order something else next time. Overall a little pricey for the food/experience but the restaurant itself was lovely.

The food was excellent, and the service was very good. The only downside was a noisy table next to us. Despite that minor issue, it was a lovely dinner overall.
