   It had decent food and some aspects were better than others. We had the Hunters platter for two and most of the meat was great but found the schnitzel extremely thin. It seemed like more crust coating than meat. Also the portion of gravy barely covered our food and we had to ask for more. Overall though the platter was tasty. The padded benches need redoing as it feels like sitting on plywood and the decor really could use a refresh.

   The Best restaurant ever! Specially due to the server Carine. She’s just amazing. The food was espetacular.

   We enjoyed our visit very much and the food was all excellent - the only thing we would say is that 50.00 for a fondue with just bread was pretty steeply priced !

   We asked my son where he wanted to go for his 16th birthday dinner after a weekend of snowboarding with his friends. He immediately said he wanted to go to the Alphorn since he remembered going years before one for breakfast. When we arrived I could tell his friends were a bit unsure initially, but once they saw the food coming out and spied the dessert list, the were immediate converts. The service was fast, efficient and friendly. We ordered warm pretzels and cheese dip and cheese fondue for the table as the other boys hadn’t ever had it before. For mains, 2 of us got their signature chicken schnitzel, one of his friends got the beef stroganoff on spaetzel, another got the steak, and my husband got the meatloaf with hunter sauce. The portions are huge, the food is all homemade and delicious. (The rösti was great, too). Our server overheard the birthday talk and surprised our son with a rousing, Swiss(?) , disco-style birthday song and a full-sized candelabra to blow out. It was accompanied by a giant slice of Black Forest Cake. The other boys demolished a giant funnel Cake covered in berries and ice cream. Places like this are so few and far between: while it’s not super-polished or modern, that is its charm: it is warm, rustic, and from another time. A time where food was cared about and recipes passed down. I am glad it is still somewhere we can visit and have a unique experience that these boys will remember. Hopefully they can bring their kids one day too.
