For gourmet breakfasts, business lunches and intimate dinners alike, guests may select from an inventive, locally sourced seasonal menu perfectly complemented by signature cocktails and an impressive wine list.

The American Reserve is located downtown Kansas City, open 365 days a year. Currently serving dinner from 5pm-10pm daily. The American Reserve can accommodate most dietary needs. Parking based upon availability.

We wanted an elegant old atmosphere restaurant since we were staying at a vintage hotel. The American Grand fit that atmosphere for putting us in a 30's to 40's styling. The staff was fabulous and the meal was exactly as we wanted. Sadly we could not stay for the Jazz show downstairs in the speakeasy Jazz Club. Next time.

Website says free parking. We have used free valet parking for years(we tipped valet). Last night were charged $15 for valet. Irritating

We have always enjoyed this boutique restaurant tucked in the back of the lobby of the hotel. This visit was quite disappointing from the quality of the food and presentation to the extremely slow service. Bar drinks were very slow coming out. The menu is not what is online any longer. The charcuterie board is overpriced for the contents presented and no veggies or olives or pickles on the board either. Overall disappointed.

Overall, we had a great experience at The American Reserve Bar & Grill—the food, drinks, and service were excellent. However, the end of our visit left us disappointed. After spending over $300, we were unexpectedly asked to move because we were seated where the band usually sets up. While I understand the need for space, it would have been nice to be informed of this earlier rather than being asked to relocate. It put a damper on an otherwise enjoyable evening.

This was a good dinner but not outstanding and they seemed to be shorthanded in and out of the kitchen. My salmon was over done and we were just not impressed with any of it. They sat a large group next to us who were very loud and inconsiderate of other people sitting around them.

Food was not as good as last spring when we were here. Absolutely average. Restaurant did not validate valet parking either, a pet peeve of mine.

Our server was very helpful and attentive all night. Please send her our thanks. She was very patient and mindful throughout our stay. Our problem had to do with finding a parking spot before coming in. We ended up paying for parking at a nearby parking garage. We found out later that we could have parked for free in a space provided by the restaurant . Is there a way to send out a reminder of parking instructions when reservations are done? Other than that, everything else was great!

Service was excellent. Meal was just okay, everything was good but nothing to write home about. Ordered a couple of espresso martinis, they didn’t skimp on the vodka, it was very good. Ambiance was good, dim lit room with masculinity feel to decor. We always wanted to try this restaurant, but we won’t be returning now that we can say we have been there
