A small plates menu with a focus on imaginative flavours inspired by several cuisines including Persian, Indian, and for the desserts, Italian. All delicious.

Lovely restaurant with delicious sharing plates! Cool decor, yummy food and a good vibe! Lots of vegetarian choices and fun cocktails! Our waitress (didn’t catch her name - blonde hair and lots of tattoos) was lovely, super friendly and good cocktail recommendations! Will definitely go back!

The Angel is always fantastic. The team are wonderful, do anything they can to accommodate you all of the time! The ever changing menu is always a delight and I look forward to every dish! Thank you ☺️

We were served by at least 4 people. It was very confusing indeed. The lady who took our order (one member of the group had a nut allergy) advised us that the potatoes were nut free. The second lady who bought the food order said she thought the potatoes had pine nuts. There was no indication on the menu for allergens. It is a legal requirement and staff should be knowledgeble and fully trained about the food that they are serving. I ordered the aubergine dish. It should be described as a Humous dish. The humous made it mostly cold. There was very little cous cous and the balance of aubergine to humous was not right. The aubergine was very crisp and dry with a table spoon of cous cous and about 4 table spoons of humous. The menu said it came with a salad which was in fact an extremely light garnish of watercress not leaf but the seed variety. Very lacking in content for a dish priced at £19. I had a glass of Sharpham wine which did not taste like Sharpham. I should have queried it! My guests had the other main option a chicken dish which they said was OK. There was no other main to choose from! Side plates had to be ordered to make up the main dish such as greens at £9.90 (which were basic French beans) the potatoes were the very best very tasty indeed and well brown and oven roasted at £7.40. My main cost £26 with the veg. I expect a meal to be excellent and with content for that amount. I was asked by the waitress to go downstairs to pay at the bar. Once there I was told to go back upstairs and to ask for the bill. I asked for the bill and then had to go back to the bar to pay. The service was very messy but if you are going for an informal drink and a mezze plate it has great ambience and character. Next time I will just have a glass of wine and a mezzo plate but it is not a place to dine for me.

Fabulous bougie wine bar / restaurant. Everything very well cared for. Great staff & keen to come back for another intimate night sharing quality food & company.
