Sitting on Boise’s vibrant Main Street, Avery shines agelessly in a Parisian & New York-inspired interior in a newly renovated historic building built in the early 20th century. The Avery inspires all occasions—romantic and casual alike—fueled by the culinary creations of Michelin-­starred chef, Cal Elliott. Enjoy elevated classics inspired by French techniques. A warm & moody Gastro-Tavern, Tiner's Alley, is tucked in the back for cozy after-dinner cocktails and free billiards. Turn any evening extraordinary with a finely curated list of cocktails and a French-loving, diverse wine list selected by our in-house sommelier.

    We love the atmosphere at The Avery. It almost feels like we're in France. I had the half chicken and it was amazing (though I had to take half of it home). I am not a big eater-and we had already had the oysters and a salad. I do wish they had a zinfandel or merlot on the wine by the glass list.

    Amazing experience! The food, service, and ambiance were fantastic! One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The beet salad, steak tartare, and flourless chocolate cake were standouts, but everything was delicious.

    The restaurant has too many tables in a small space. We were seated in essentially a walkway with no room on either side. Servers had to walk sideways to move past. It was uncomfortable and disappointing so we left before ordering. Can’t comment on the food as we did not try anything, but the host was not very friendly. For an upscale dining experience, I expect better.

    Excellent dinner and service at The Avery for my birthday dinner! Endive and Pear salad, one of the best I have ever eaten! Scallop dish was outstanding. Got my Pistachio Souffle for dessert on the house! We will definitely go back!

    We have been wanting to go to The Avery for quite a while and finally made it happen. We were not disappointed. The food was outstanding, and the service was great. Since it was the first time for everyone in our group, we all went with suggested menu items. Everyone was happy with the meals and drinks that were suggested. We will all be returning soon!

    Overall loved it! Great interior design. The only reason I didn’t give it full stars was because the music was VERY LOUD. We love music but it was so loud I could barely hear my husband talking across the table from me. You had to kinda yell at each other which is awkward when they have us sitting at a long straight booth together sitting very close to other guests. Food was great! We will go again but probably just to the back where the bar lounge is. Beautiful!

    Food was absolutely outstanding, from the oysters to the scallops to the fillet that we had. Wait staff was extremely helpful. Great experience.

    Short & Simple ... cramped and uncomfortable seating. Wait service was cordial, but not remarkable. Even though our entrees were delicious, they were not prepared in the manner that we requested. For example, the "Beef Duo" came to our table medium rare, as opposed to medium as we requested. Additionally, the beans in the cassoulet were not tender as they should have been ... they simple were not cooked through, sorry. Really looked forward to enjoying the tender, succulent gelatinous of the pork belly, but that was a fail because it was over-cooked! The tab for a party of four (4) without alcohol was high. The menu is ambitious, but needs refinement ... and better execution in preparation. For now, this falls into the "One & Done" category.
