                                                  Have dined at The Barn before and have NEVER been disappointed. Yesterday was a birthday for a family member. It was not announced - the goal was to have an early, private dinner. The meal was absolutely delicious. The chili rubbed 8oz filet mignon was perfectly seasoned on an island of sweet potato silk with an accompaniment of broccolini and cooked to perfection. The braised short rib and mushrooms with pappardelle was spectacular. The server was flawless and gracious, and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The one thing that many of us forget: it is the chefs who make the magic happen at the diner's table. The Barn's chefs are truly hidden heroes. We asked to meet the young chef who had prepared our meal. It was truly a pleasure to tell him that his skills had made a birthday dinner so very special!

                                                  Romantic spot for a special occasion for a date, we have been dining at The Barn since a family member got married at the Allenberry. Hospitality is and always has been absolutely amazing.

                                                  We had a nice time at The Barn. The food was very good- we had the halibut and the buttermilk chicken, both delicious and done just right. Atmosphere is relaxing, our server was wonderful.

                                                  The service started out fine. After a long delay the staff apologized to several dinners about the long wait. For the main course. The food arrived and was over cooked and over seasoned. I never had a bad meal at this place until last night. Not even close to being worth the money for the meal. Not sure what has happened . I noticed several couples left without finishing the main course. Not acceptable for the cost especially on valentines day.

                                                  We dine at Allenberry frequently and have always been very happy with service and food but Valentine Dinner this year was outstanding. We both had the crab cakes and got it as much for the sides as the the crab cakes. The brussel sprouts and smoked mac and cheese were wonderful and the crab cakes were some of the best I've ever had. Service was excellant as well. Always a great experience and one we will return to often.

                                                  Allenberry Resort is a beautiful venue. It is welcoming and is well maintained. We always enjoy being there. Our only critique is the menu selections. There is definitely room for improvement. They need more creative and flavorful offerings that change seasonally. We also enjoyed wine tastings in the past, but that has not been offered for quite sometime.
