Unfortunately we didn’t stay long enough to enjoy the food, there was one other party in there who were not ready to order food. We ordered our drinks and said we were ready to order food to which the waitress replied I’ve got to do their order first. We waited over 20 minutes for a drink this did not materialise so we left. Such a contrast to when we went in March we were their first ever sitting and it was amazing. Such a shame

A warm welcome and great food as always thank you to Michael and team. Nina was friendly polite and efficient. One of us had the ribs this time and said it was a delicious dish. Generous portion too. When we visit the IOW we always include a meal at Basque Kitchen as we were regulars when it was in Cowes. It’s our favourite. With all best wishes Ingrid and Derek

We had several plates of superb tapas at The Basque Kitchen. The food was above our expectation - well prepared and presented. Unfortunately we were the only customers in and so that detracted a little from the overall experience but the two female servers were friendly and chatted with us. Would recommend.

Great selection of tapas and further choices on the specials board. Service was outstanding and quick. Amazing selection of wines and some delicious, previously unheard of varieties from Spain. Really good atmosphere and lovely surroundings.

We opted for the 'Chef's choice' and we were delighted. Not only all the 7 dishes were well presented but they were also delicious. Having being to the Basque country, in Spain and France, we were not disappointed. Even the house wines, that were the only ones available by the glass, were more than pleasant. A place that we will hapilly visit again at our next trip to the Isle of Wight.

We love BK. We’re regular customers from the time it was in Cowes. We travelled from there to find the new place in Ventnor. So nice to see Michael and staff again. Great food and a different experience. We tried the meatballs this time - delicious. The flavours are great I’d love a cookbook by BK but I’d still prefer them to cook it for us! My favourite - the prawns. This is a place that understands the use of olive oil! Best of luck in your new venue! But come back to Cowes one day please! 💗

Excellent food with variety of delicious tastes… Shared tapas dishes. Good wine too at reasonable price. Very jolly atmosphere… noise diminished when large table finished meal and left !
