The Birdcage is a fantastic, town-centre pub in the beautiful harbourside town of Brixham, Devon. Situated on the corner of New Road, the Birdcage is opposite Brixham Theatre and sits right at the heart of the local community. Formerly known as the Bolton Hotel, the pub occupies a Grade II listed building and has been on the site since the 19th Century. We're proud to offer a menu packed with the most appetising dishes. Our passion for taking traditional pub classics and making them the best around by using the most decadent of ingredients, makes every meal served have you coming back time and time again!

Join us for our traditional 3 course (£25.95) or 2 course (£21.95) festive menu. Christmas is so much more than just the big day itself and we'll keep the festivities going all the way through December into the bright lights of 2025! Our 2 or 3 course festive menu is available from 20th November to 31st December and we've got a table waiting for you! Secure your booking now with a £5pp deposit.

Steak and ale pie not cooked on top peas were hard not enough mash. Service really good and very friendly

In all fairness this place got busy and we expected a little wait and to be honest it was worth the wait. Food and service was spot on. Gent behind the bar was a gentleman

Had to return 1 meal awful, didn't even look edible. Chips on all meals hard and over cooked, items paid for but not served had to ask for them. Not much of an apology just blamed there supplier!! No decent chef would have sent out food this bad!! Won't be going there again.

We have been there before and the food was fantastic and the price was very reasonable will definitely be going there again. Highly recommend it.

Really good pub, went to watch the football and have some food, atmosphere was good, food was lovely and everything was good value. Staff were friendly and welcoming.
