The Bleeding Horse is a historically significant public house located in Upper Camden Street, Dublin, Ireland. It dates at least back to the 17th century, and was located on St. Kevin’s Port (now Camden St.) at the junction of two important highways leading out of the city.
On one side was Charlotte St., leading to Ranelagh and Donnybrook; on the other side was Old Camden St., which joined Richmond St. and led to Rathmines and Cullenswood. Both of these old streets disappeared during the renovations in the 1990s. The present building dates from 1871; the interior was renovated in 1992.
There are (at least) two explanations for the name. One is that when a horse got the “staggers” it was bled by a farrier at the inn. Another is that the name of the pub comes from an incident during the Battle of Rathmines in 1649, when a wounded horse fled from the battle.

Tutto estremamente positivo. Unica nota stonata il cameriere che ci ha richiesto la mancia aggiuntiva per i gruppi. Abbiamo poi scoperto che è per i gruppi da più di sei, e noi eravamo in cinque. Il capocameriere si è scusato offrendoci di riprendere i soldi. Peccato perché il pub è molto bello e il cibo buonissimo. Comunque consigliato.

We had a great evening celebrating our birthday :) we had our own area, which was perfect for 20 people +.

Caesar salad was bland i did not finish it and sent it back! The spice bag was amazing id highly recommend it and the portions were huge! Red wine 9.50€ a glass or 35€ for a bottle! TVs everywhere so perfect for the match

Went there on Christmas Eve and the food was awful the chicken was burnt to a crisp and the price for the quality of food we were served was shocking. Was also very quiet yet the service was very slow.

We went for an early dinner on a Sunday afternoon. It may be ok for drinks but wouldn't recommend for food. Uncomfortable experience.
