Bringing waterfront dining back to Hopewell! The Boathouse at City Point with a sweeping vista of the Appomattox and James rivers features high-end interior design elements, private dining for large groups, patio dining and an outdoor bar. The Boathouse at City Point will offer a similar menu to other locations of The Boathouse, featuring coastal elements and a number of locally sourced ingredients.

Our patio tables are some of the most coveted seats in town, with the chance to take in an expansive waterfront view while enjoying selections from our menu of contemporary seafood classics. Traditionally we have not guaranteed seating, but now through OpenTable Experiences, we are able to set aside a few of our best tables each night. The $5/pp fee reserves seating at one of these tables. In the event of inclement weather, your reservation fee is transferable to another available date. Reservation fee is non-refundable.

Our evening experience to celebrate my birthday was wonderful! The food, drinks, great staff, and the live jazz band was great! We all enjoyed our food, drinks and our waitress, April was awesome!! Thank you so much! We will definitely recommend others to visit and come back again. Happy New Year 🎉

Normally we’ve had a good experience at the Boathouse but New Year’s Eve was not a good night. Our food took forever and we later found out two cooks quit during the night leaving several patrons waiting on food for long periods of time. They also ran out of “mashed potatoes” according to our waitress. I will say the waitresses handled the tough situation very well as several customers were not very happy. I think upper management should have gotten more involved and interacted with the customers and maybe even offered complimentary drinks or dessert.

Enjoyed a delicious lunch with a beautiful view of eagles and other birds over the river. A go-to place for me.

The restaurant atmosphere was great! However, the shrimp was under cooked, the salad was dry and the lettuce was not cleaned. The meal was not good. Also, A toilet in the ladies room was broken. A patron used it not aware That it was broken I tried telling the manager and she WAS VERY rude to me. Not sure we will return. :/

Holiday dinner with my bible study group. Not crowded but service was very slow. Atmosphere was boring for the holidays. Food was overpriced and not great. Lobster tail was overcooked and tough. Food was not hot either. Had to ask for everything even refills on soda and tea. I have to say that the desserts were great. The fellowship was wonderful but overall restaurant was not great.

We looked forward to our night out, making reservations @ 5 to catch a concert @ 7. Plenty of time… we thought. Our waiter forgot to put in our order. Waited an hour after ordering to receive our meal, no time to eat our dessert. We understand these things happen but we were charged a lot of money for a rushed meal with soggy fries. Interesting, I never ordered fries but we were so rushed to make it to the concert I wasn’t going to waste more time waiting for the exchange. I believe the waiter must have been new and unexperienced. We all have to start somewhere. Hopefully with time and more experience, he may pay more attention to the details. There is great potential with this place but I was not impressed.
