The Boathouse Bar & Restaurant is a stunning restaurant and bar, overlooking the shores of Lake Windermere, providing a picturesque environment for dining. Serving fresh, original, everyday eating on the shores of Lake Windermere, the menu includes traditional British favorite's. Enjoy a coffee, light lunch or something a little more substantial as you unwind with a drink overlooking the boats on Windermere Marina. Why not join us for simply great fresh food and fine wine in a contemporary, relaxed and informal setting.

The restaurant is open Friday - Monday from 9am serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Tuesday - Thursday from 11am serving lunch and dinner.

**PARKING AVAILIABLE FOR ALL CUSTOMERS OF THE BOATHOUSE** - Marina car park available for all Boathouse customers (Please call for a code we will need your car registration please have it to hand)

Lovely food and great service. This is the 3rd or 4th time we’ve eaten here and it’s always excellent.

We went at lunch time on Saturday in February so it was very quiet but the service was very good and the food was lovely. We had mussels and teriyaki beef to start followed by the gammon and pizza for means. We were tempted by the desserts but didn’t leave enough room so reluctantly declined. We would definitely return.

The staff were brilliant the last that Served us was excellent 👌👌 very attentive and a credit to the resteraunt deserves recognition. Confused about the fusion of foods, food potentially lacked BUT was still good. Definitely a place to take children to get used to fine dining. Again the server was amazing. He deserve credit. Young ISH lad, tall,lovely guy Thank you

Location is lovely, right on the water. Staff are great and really helpful. The food wasn’t as good as we had expected, it was ok for the price, you are paying an uplift because of the location.

The menu was limited for myself being pescatarian however I found some items I could eat. However I was extremely dissatisfied and disappointed. I only ate the orange sorbet. The main course of seabass and rissotto was extremely spicy and was not advertised to be spicy. ( I can not eat spicy foods as I have chrohns disease). The table service was extremely slow with only a few waiters on. So it took three hours for a few courses. It seemed very disorganized. Also for the price we expected some kind of entertainment during the meal. Lots of other places had entertainment on but we picked yourselves as I was informed during the dinner an entertainer would be on. Truly disappointing . In future it would be best to ask if anyone has any allergies or food preferences? Also not add spices when not advertised

Hi Sarah, Our menu was shared in advance, enabling guests to review and pre-order based on their specific needs. We regret that the pescetarian option did not meet your expectations. To ensure proper accommodations, we encourage guests to inform us of allergies or health conditions, such as Crohn’s disease, at the time of booking or pre-ordering. Regarding the event timeline, our pre-event communication outlined the evening’s structure. The service format, including pacing, was detailed in our email sent December 18, 2024, at 7:28 PM a 2.5-3 hour service for five courses with welcome drinks and canapés aligns with standard event timings. It’s unfortunate the we didn't fulfill your expectations despite the event details being shared ahead of time. Kind regards, Dan

A very lively venue and fantastic staff. We just didn’t think the amount of food and quality of food was with £120 each for Christmas.

We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the lively atmosphere and found our staff fantastic We understand your concerns about the price, so we wanted to provide some context. The £120 per person included a carefully curated four-course meal, canapés, a welcome drink, and a £12.50 allowance toward wine. Additionally, to ensure our staff could be with us on Christmas Day and provide exceptional service, we paid them double time as a gesture of appreciation for their dedication during the holiday season. We strive to create a memorable and festive experience for all our guests, but we’re sorry to hear that the meal didn’t fully meet your expectations in terms of value.

We had really nice Christmas lunch. Food was great, as were the staff. Also a good atmosphere, with music and everyone smiling and enjoying themselves. Hadn't been before, so will be good to go back when it's warmer and have a look around the marina at the same time.
