Since 2006, multi award winning chef Steven Sanderson has been delighting his customers with a beautiful selection of delicious dishes that offer traditional values with a modern twist.

Come and relax within our 400 year old inn beneath the ancient beams, and enjoy your meal in contemporary decor near an open fire that burns throughout the year.

We opened 9 new boutique rooms in 2019 and these, together with the restaurant, means that The Chequers at Burcot in South Oxfordshire is perfect for those looking for a getaway, a staycation or accommodation for a business trip.

The food was amazing yet again, so pleased that this restaurant keeps its high standard. We had the Feathered blade of beef, which was a dream. And the presentation is always so good too. Staff is very proffesional and polite and as it was my husbands Birthday, we were touched by the lovely little brownie & strawberry desert that was given to him(and a card). We will definitelly be back.

Overall very good. Had sunday roast - Beef. Great but could have done with more slices of beef.

Food wasn't really worth the price, very nice waitress but meals were served missing sides

Amazing evening at The Chequers. Steak cooked perfectly. Christmas cocktails amazing. Service impeccable. Thank you Kim. Highly recommend anyone taking someone special for a night out.

Best steak ever. Can’t fault anything here .Only one bad point was we had someone with walking problems and we had a blue badge so we parked in the disabled parking. This is on a slope and no drop kerb to access it so you have to bump up the kerb into a slope. Not the best. Otherwise perfect.
