The year was 1943, and Jim and Alice Wimmer decided to take a big risk, buying a small existing roadside restaurant known for its char-broiled steaks. How fitting that in 2018, the restaurant's 75th anniversary year, the third generation of Wimmers, Amy Wimmer, takes the helm from her father Jeff and his wife Jane, bringing her own adventurous spirit to the Del-Bar, the same kind of spirit she so admired in her grandparents. Rich History • 75 Years & 3 Generations • Award Winning Cuisine While flattering comparisons to steakhouses in Chicago and New York are regularly made by visitors, Amy Wimmer still cherishes this restaurant, her family restaurant, as one-of-a-kind.

The amazing craftsman type architecture is beautiful, the service is amazing and the flourless chocolate cake was amazing, The service was also amazing our server Chelsea got our orders in fast and was very helpful overall it was a great dining experience.

Everything was great! Service is impeccable from the front door/hostess to the bar to the table service. Our server, Liz, was fantastic. She was informative, friendly, efficient and fun. She is a valuable asset to the restaurant. Food was delicious and prices are in line with similar restaurants. We had been to Del-Bar once before and there have been renovations which really enhance the experience and do not take anything away from it. The new front bar/lounge area with the fireplace is so warm and welcoming. You have a beautiful facility, one of the nicest in Wisconsin!

The apotheosis of Midwestern Supper Clubs. Fabulous MidCentury ambiance, deeply friendly and skillful service, exceptional food. So many supper clubs really only do steaks well - the Del Bar delivers from soup to dessert. Menu is expansive and crammed with traditional favorites adapted to modern tastes. We had Chicken Cordon Bleu, a perfect pork chop, spinach and hot bacon dressing, and a generously clammy clam chowder. Drinks a tad watery but we are not fans of being hammered during dinners. Food portions are large and fairly priced. Reservations recommended - we were there on a sleety Wednesday and the place was hoppin’.
