The year was 1943, and Jim and Alice Wimmer decided to take a big risk, buying a small existing roadside restaurant known for its char-broiled steaks. How fitting that in 2018, the restaurant's 75th anniversary year, the third generation of Wimmers, Amy Wimmer, takes the helm from her father Jeff and his wife Jane, bringing her own adventurous spirit to the Del-Bar, the same kind of spirit she so admired in her grandparents. Rich History • 75 Years & 3 Generations • Award Winning Cuisine While flattering comparisons to steakhouses in Chicago and New York are regularly made by visitors, Amy Wimmer still cherishes this restaurant, her family restaurant, as one-of-a-kind.

Just another amazing experience at Del Bar. Couldn’t have been better and is consistently the highlight of our trips to the Dells. Our previous nights experience at Double Cut paled in comparison in all facets.

Great food, service, ambience!! It is truly a pleasure to dine here, both casually or for a special occasion. Best to get a reservation as this place is always busy.

Everything was perfect, great service, food was outstanding. Easily one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Mashed potatoes are from a 1940s recipe and were a perfect compliment with the steak. Other unexpected delights included Keylime pie, cranberry rolls served with the meal and delicious fried calamari.

Our experience was spectacular! The prime rib was delicious, and the filet mignon melted in our mouths (so to speak)! Thank you for making our evening so special!

We travel 1.5 hours to visit The Del Bar. It never disappoints. We love introducing our friends to this fabulous restaurant. This is the first time we have been there since the addition was put on and it really helps with the flow and the waiting space. Our waiter was Chris and he did a terrific job. 👍 The food, as always was top notch. We all got different items and all were hot and delicious. My husband loves the marrow butter on his steak. When making the reservation, I told them that we were celebrating a birthday and they brought out a wonderful dessert. Thank you for a wonderful evening. Our friends were very impressed!

We are locals in the area and enjoyed our Friday Fish Fry. The meals we've eaten here have never disappointed us and we highly recommend this restaurant!

We always have a wonderful experience at the Delbar !!! Food was amazing ! The filet was so good ! The peanut butter pie was yummy :)
