    Todo estuvo fenomenal. Las camareras muy profesionales todas. La comida muy rica. La ubicación de la mesa con vistas a la playa preciosa.

    We have been visiting the Fishermans Wife once a year for many years. The overnight yearly outing to Whitby(from Lancashire)is specifically to have a meal at the FW, as the place has always been so special. WE WONT BE DOING THAT ANYMORE. Sad to say, this place is no longer special. The reason is not one specific thing, but a collection of little changes. We realise that businesses need to economise where they can, and we are not saying that the place is now bad.......its just AVERAGE. When asked what drinks we wanted, the guys ordered Draught Bitter as usual....NO LONGER AVAILABLE (bottles only). We ordered 9 Oysters, which used to come accompanied with chopped onions and chopped chorizo......NO CHORIZO ANYMORE. (Also, no individual plates to eat from???). One of us ordered the Seafood platter, which was a favourite of his. What he got was more of a salad. The seafood WAS NOT a platter. I ordered Vegetable & Chickpea curry and rice, which I supplemented with a bowl of chips and a BATTERED COD(basically, TWO meals!!). Our bill (3 of us) came to £156. For a "SPECIAL" meal, we would be happy to pay that, but we're really sorry to say Fishermans Wife, you are no longer "Special". Thanks for the memories, but we won't be coming back soon

    It was our first visit to Whitby, the staff were very welcoming and efficient. The food did not disappoint - great portions with stunning views over the bay, the location alone is worth a visit. 🌊 A proper gem on the Yorkshire coast ⭐️

    Best fishcake I've had. Lovely food. Great view. Staff were really welcoming and obviously trying to give customers best experience possible, e.g. clearing empty tables really fast so new arrivals could be seated on side with beach view. The guy who welcomed us and mainly served our table was really friendly and competent. There was a young lady who we asked for a couple of things that she forgot both times and we had to ask someone else.

    The restaurant was buzzing on a Saturday night, the welcome was great, we had starters, mains and desserts - all of them were excellent. I had the haddock and salmon fishcake, which was a special - it was tasty and fresh. I had the cold seafood platter for my main, the Oyster was tasty, the salmon, smoked and hot was perfectly seasoned. I had the chocolate fudge cake for pudding which was rich and indulgent. All in all, this was a fantastic meal which we really enjoyed.

    Seafood cold platter was disappointing, small portion considering the price.One oyster, one prawn, two tablespoons of brown shrimp, mackerel pate, salad, small bowl chips which were chip shop chips, not nice. I had half a lobster which was really nice but again very small with new potatoes. Been once wouldn't go back.

    Unfortunately we chose to eat here yesterday. The positives are that we were warmly welcomed and we did have a window table which was ok for watching the fairground next to us. Sadly we left feeling ripped off and perplexed at this restaurant’s nerve. Full of hope when choosing the poached salmon salad special (priced at £25.99 inside, but £21.99 outside - charged to us at £25.99) we were presented with a bowl of what looked like a bag of pre-packed salad emptied over ‘finely’ diced cucumber, red onion, a couple of tiny bits of fennel, maybe pepper maybe some other bits and a handful of pomegranate seeds, with three thin slices of orange on the side and lumps of poached salmon dumped around. £25.99? Really? Others of us had fish and chips of various types which were ok but just that - ok. The toilets were dire. The toilet seat didn’t fit and wasn’t fixed, the hand dryer didn’t work so someone had left a loo roll out to dry hands with. Problem was that the bin (when found) was in a cubicle which is useless if someone is in there and so the tired washroom was littered with screwed up toilet paper - all around the dirty sink, floor etc. Grim. No soap. Yes they were busy, it was Saturday lunchtime, that doesn’t excuse a filthy washroom (and they can surely afford a loo with a fitted seat (that’s the same size)?). It was the polar opposite of a fine dining experience. At the till the staff were happily shouting over to each other that a table had asked to split the bill and how it’s such a pain. We’re sorry we were an inconvenience - we had already worked it out though, so hopefully not too arduous to input four separate totals. It was only later we realised about the dual-pricing of the ‘special’, otherwise we would have raised it there and then. In summary - the food was just ok. Massively overpriced. The washroom was an embarrassment. Our advice - walk straight past this one and don’t waste your money. Sorry guys - badly done.

    Fabulous lunch with great wine and food. The view is amazing and the service really good and attentive without being overbearing. We had a great experience that wasn’t overpriced.
