I love the Gables but was disappointed last month (mid October) and on Thanksgiving that the wood-burning fireplace was not burning and there was no pianist. These 2 things really add to the experience. In fact, we would've chosen a different restaurant for both dinners had we known in advance. It was certainly very cold enough last night to warrant a fire.

The food and service were exceptional. We went on a holiday so it was a little noisy at times.

The fall/winter pre fixe menu in my opinion is absolutely perfect! Elevated yet comfort food. The French onion soup is no crock of French onion soup. It is more of a meal. The soup had three pieces of short rib and the toast had slices of (I think) Brie! Almost like a cross between beouf Bourgogne and French onion soup. A must is the Bosc pear tarte tatin for dessert. The butterscotch sauce was perfection. For mains we had the grilled pork chop and the chicken breast. Both had wonderful seasonal preparations and were miraculously moist! Service was perfect and the owners stop by every table and are so friendly! A really special place!

Finally got to eat at the Gables restaurant and we were not disappointed. The food was absolutely delicious and gourmet quality. The atmosphere was most charming and the service was unbeatable. We will definitely be back.

Our experience was quite good. We were celebrating our 38th anniversary and we were happy with our choice. Brianna did an excellent job. Although the main course took exceptionally long to arrive, she did her best. My dish could have been hotter, but it was delicious none the less. We will definitely revisit.

Our dinner there was absolutely fantastic! The atmosphere ans service could not of been better. The only negative for us was the price fix menu. Everything was delicious, but the amount of food was too much for us. We rarely eat that much at one sitting.
