    A beautiful traditional pub/restaurant with all the makings of 5* service and dining. However, the evening was detrimentally affected by how cold the bar and dining room were. There was a traditional, well kept fire, all ready to be lit, but unfortunately the manager chose not to light it. Many customers sat with fleeces or jackets on, some asked to move tables due to the low temperature within, some customers asked for the fire to be lit, but unfortunately they were ignored. A disappointing part of our evening, as having a traditional fire, on such a cold evening was one of the reasons for our choice to book accommodation and reserve a table for dining.

    Our second visit..we were here last month with friends for Sunday lunch and it was so good we came back with our family and we were not disappointed. Very good food and lovely pub

    Great place to eat menu has improved with more choices, instead of all the fish that was on it last time we visited.

    Food and service was excellent but a little spoilt by London prices for a glass of wine and pint of commonly available beer.
