Welcome to our famous wood panelled dining room where you can enjoy a variety of dishes carefully prepared by the experienced award winning Chefs. Inspired by a love of modern British food, the menus are built with a unique variety using the best quality produce & ingredients, much of which is locally sourced.

Whether you join us for lunch or dinner our lavishly designed lounges offer an ambient, restful space to relax, unwind and look forward to the sumptuous dining experience and are perfect for enjoying the sea views.

Our Table D’Hote menu is served Monday to Friday midday until 2.30pm with evening service from 6.30pm until 9pm and Sunday 4.pm until 7pm. Our beautifully crafted A La Carte menu is served every Saturday from Midday – 2.30pm and 6.30pm to 9pm. Our famous Sunday lunch service is from midday until 4pm.

Food improved from previous visit two weeks ago. Service was very slow table booked for 7pm meal arrived 8.30pm Staff a bit narky when we noticed we had been charged for 3 courses instead of two, even more put out when we wanted to pay individually. This hadn’t been an issue two weeks ago. Probably will go again because it’s a nice place to sit and relax. Staff really need to remember and learn to suck up to customers

My food was terrible really, I had prawn cocktail which had no sauce and chopped peppers. I had the haddock goujons for main and can honestly say I’ve had better at home airfried from my freezer. The service, we had to call staff over every time we needed anything or to get another drink and the place wasn’t even busy. I was really disappointed as I’ve never heard a bad report about this place and was looking forward to it. Maybe it was a one off but still no excuse ☹️

2nd visit in as many months, lovely food and service. We are putting this on our regular girls get togethers.

This was our 2nd visit (we came in July 2023 ) I have to say both the food, service and indeed the ambience have improved considerably. This time it was a wonderful experience, it was so good that even though we where planning on going somewhere else for drinks after the meal we stayed in the warm cosy lounge drinking for several hours. All the staff where really friendly and approachable, special mention to the new bar manager who was great fun … we will be back

Always had lovely food at the Kingsway but so disappointed this time. We had Xmas lunch the roast potatoes where hard chewy like they had been warmed up. The turkey & gravy were tasteless & the stuffing just tasted like pepper. It he veg was just sprouts and carrots I thought there would have at least been parsnips. For the price it was.very poor. Havin said that my daughter went in the evening a few days before and her meal sounds completely different she said it was lovely very tasty stuffing with cranberries & she got parsnips. I’m not sure what went wrong maybe a different chef or because it was a Monday very disappointed because I had taken friends who hadn’t been before and I’d told them how nice the food was.

We love going to The Kingsway. It’s a special treat. Lovely relaxing lounge. Polite staff. Excellent food with a good choice. Marked down a couple of stars this time however. Service a little slower than usual( & it wasn’t busy) . Had to send my pudding back as toffee sauce too thick and set on plate but this was soon rectified so that was good . There was however a private function in the room off the lounge and they were extremely loud so after our meal, the lounge wasn’t as relaxing as usual. It would have been better had the room been closed off to reduce the noise. Otherwise a great night. We will definitely go again.

My wife and I visit the Kingsway every year for our wedding anniversary 12th Dec and on this occasion we brought along our son and daughter in law. As usual, the ambience was excellent and the service faultless. We all thoroughly enjoyed our evening meals, let me make that quite clear. However, 24 hours later I realised my stomach was beginning to churn - in fact I had not felt 100% since midday. Then several emergency trips to the bathroom ensued overnight and throughout the following day, the last dash being at 16:10 on Saturday. The other three had no issues. The only different food I had was the chicken pate and brussels and I was not too certain of the latter when I ate them. It was disappointing after such a pleasant evening but these things happen.

Enjoyed the experience once again. Certainly value for money. Crisp white tablecloths, attentive waiting staff, warm and bright surroundings. One disappointment was the turkey. This was pre formed into a 'loaf' and had a bland taste. I had expected slices of breast meat and more taste. However, this will not stop me from visiting The Kingsway again as the rest of the three course meal was excellent.
