A place that feels like home.. I don't mean that in a sense that the place is covered in dog hair, the tv is blaring, the kids are screaming and there's lego all over the floor; more in a sense that you feel welcomed, content and at home from the minute you enter, right up until you leave. We wanted to create a place, that I myself, would want to visit on a regular basis. A place where your name is more important to us than your money is. A place where you feel like a regular from your first visit. A place where you feel like a part of our family. A place you felt you've been before. A place that feels like home.... Ok, so we have fancy wine glasses, twinkling candles, nice chairs and really shiny cutlery, but don't let that fool you... We're humble, both in our service and in our food, and pretentiousness and oversized egos were banished from the premises the day we started trading. We like looking the part, but life's too short for airs and graces...

We had a lovely dinner on a Thursday night with family. Staff were engaging, friendly and welcoming. The food was outstanding and had something for everyone's taste. Staff were happy to recommend dishes and they did not disappoint. The restaurant was quiet as it was a Thursday night but this suited us perfectly as we were able to chat easily. The desserts were also delicious and they were happy to provide extra plates and spoons so we could share. The restaurant has a cosy ambience and we will definitely return... soon!

We went there with our two little kids. Welcomed to sit outside when the DJ was too loud for us inside. Service and food was great. Will recommend to others visiting. Thank you!

We've been to the Kitchen Tootgarook twice before and had a great time, but this time was disappointing. We placed our order and nothing came for 30 minutes, and noticed a neighbouring table who ordered after us got served before us. When we prompted the staff, they said, it was the next order to come, and it will there in a couple of minutes. It was another 15 minutes (after seeing other tables get served), we got our food. It's fair to conclude something went wrong with the order and it got cooked once we prompted the staff. I don't mind if a mistake is made and a restaurant makes amends. But in this case, the mistake was covered up, no apology was made and nothing done for us (not that we asked for anything, but I think it's good service to own a mistake and make amends). From becoming a potential regular place to eat, I think it's been relegated to just another option.

We were welcomed happily; could sit wherever we liked; brought water to the table immediately and after ordering, the meals arrived quickly. The staff were not hovering but aware we might want something else. They didn’t force us to leave, even though we were the last group in the restaurant (by far!). I have always experienced friendliness here and highly recommend it as a relaxed, comfortable place to meet with friends.

The food was lovely. I got the lamb but it did not had enough vegetables only a few bits of broccoli so I was still hungry so I had some of my husbands curry and bread to fill myself up. It would of been perfect if it had more vegetables like potatoes or other vegetables to make the meal perfect
