Welcome to the Lodge at Salhouse, we are a family run pub occupying a charming 19th century vicarage. The pub has recently been renovated, including comfortable bedrooms set in seven acres of countryside garden.

We are fortunate to be surrounded by the picturesque Norfolk Broads, while Salhouse boasts numerous scenic walks for both guests and four-legged friends to enjoy.

The neighbouring village of Wroxham provides plentiful amenities including a department store, local shops and cafes, and is popular with holidaymakers wishing to hire boats - we would all agree that one of the best ways to experience the Broads is on the water!

Norfolk also boasts 90 miles of award-winning coastline, with lots of variety to explore. From sandy beaches and rugged cliffs to salt marshes, there really is a beach for everyone! Here at the Lodge our closest stretch of beach is only a half-hour drive away.

We booked The Lodge at Salhouse off the cuff on the same day( New yrs day) as had not been before and they did not disappoint. From start to finish it was a lovely experience, polite and friendly staff, lovely decor and table setting. Food was delicious, served hot and plenty to fill you up. I had chicken supreme with a truffle veloute and dauphnoise potatoes, portion sizes are very generous, My partner had the belly pork and it was huge lol but he was in food heaven lol x Service was prompt, friendly and overall a very lovely experience x

We visit here regularly as the food is top notch and good value for money when compared to other local venues. It’s always well presented and delicious. Staff very attentive but not overly so and the atmosphere is relaxing and tasteful. Highly recommended.

The food here is so so good! Particularly love that they do a beef dripping chips! The roast is amazing, staff really friendly and restaurant really nice! My fav restaurant to go to!

Birthday celebration meal. Restaurant was not too busy as early evening booking. Food was great and delicious but would have been helpful to know that the Cromer Fishcakes were sold out when the menus were presented as 3 of our party had chosen starters and/or mains that were not available, so had to have a rethink. Service was a bit slow considering only 6 -8 other tables occupied when we arrived. Felt a bit “between sittings” - all other unoccupied tables had their table candles lit and diners arriving after us had same. They didn’t bother with us and surprisingly that although I’d notified restaurant that it was a birthday booking there was no birthday recognition when the desserts arrived which there has been in the past. And being asked to pay twice for a £237 bill wasn’t appreciated either…..tonight was just not quite the usual standard but guess it was post Christmas fatigue……all venues have off days and this was a first for us having dined at The Lodge on many celebratory occasions. The food was superb as always.

As usual the food and particularly the service were well above average we use the Lodge for all our special occasions

Table service to order took a while, but to be fair to staff, they were very busy. Staff were all polite and professional. Food was plentiful. I ordered pork belly, mash and veg and my husband ordered battered fish and chips. My pork belly was huge! But rather salty and I had so much on my plate, I could only eat half of the meal, same for my husband. Therefore, I had to take mine home in a box for later. Food was very fresh and very hot. I will definitely return, but maybe in daylight, as the car park and path to the carpark were not lit, so it was difficult to see where you're going.
