   My friend and I had the grilled Hake with salad and chips. We both enjoyed our meal but my battered fish tasted a bit oily. We also ordered drinks at the bar. The bar tender was unable to tell me which of the sparkling wines was the least sweet. I was told: “It’s Brut”. As an occasional drinker, that answer told me nothing. I think if you have staff working at the bar then they should have very good product knowledge or at the very least, be polite.

   We had a very enjoyable lunch today at the Old England Hotel with our group of friends. The setting was relaxed and our table private with a view of the garden. The service was spot on from the time we arrived. We can't thank the staff enough for their diligence and professionalism. Well done all, we'll be back again later this year to have another group luncheon here.

   Lovely atmosphere, friendly service, excellent menu, plentiful food attractively arranged on the plate. Fabulous as always. Compliments to the chef!

   Good choices and nice ambiance. Noise level a bit high but then it was full booked so that cannot be helped.

   I’m a frequent diner at The Old England. My lunch today was pretty ordinary. I ordered the grilled barramundi. The skin was soggy and it was served with a strange side of an equally soggy corn salad and guacamole. My friend had the chicken parmigiana. She didn’t say much but I could tell by her facial expression that the meat with the river if sauce and cheese was less than appealing. Overall I was not very happy. This is probably the first time that I’ve written a less than satisfactory review. I often wonder if the chef/s sample their creations before they put them in the menu.

    It’s a special experience to dine in the dining room , table service and great ambience. Same menu as bistro hut just that bit special
