   The food was amazing, would recommend eating here , breakfast is amazing too, lovely staff very friendly and helpful and polite, this is the fourth time staying here , we love it

   Had a lovely family meal at the Old Ship Inn on a very busy bank holiday Sunday. We will definitely be back.

   I had fish pie and my husband had the chowder. Both were excellent. Good service, friendly staff.

   The pub was busier than anticipated and the staff who worked hard seemed to struggle to cope. We were left with empty plates for a long time before clearing, then a wait to be offered dessert and then an undue wait to pay. In the end I went to the bar to pay so that I could leave. It felt as if some of the staff were still being trained or doing jobs when then should have been more attentive to customers.. The food was tasty but for me the portion size of the main was too small. One spoonfull of mash, 1 roast carrot is not enough. I dont think anyone came back to check if we were happy with the food either. The dessert portion I had was large enough but I feel as though I was lucky.

   The service was good the food was excellent. The only thing was it was a bit noisy as there was a large group in. I would definitely visit again.

   Lovely food my wife enjoyed the goat cheese salad starter and the fish pie to follow I had soup and chicken. All really well cooked in a comfortable setting. Very busy so it’s best to book.

    Great pub / restaurant and fantastic food. We had the Sunday roast sharing platter and it was huge. The meal was delicious can’t fault it. Ambience was lovely and friendly staff. Great place with lots of memorabilia around the pub and restaurant.
