Booked through Open Table and when we arrived the kitchen wasn't they open. They said this was because they were not busy and therefore no chef. The person we spoke to seemed to think Open Table should have been aware of this. So, not sure who is to blame.

We saw a banner advertising 3 course carvery at the oxen so we booked a table as part of a birthday treat on the way to the theatre , we arrived and were told they aren’t doing carvery ! No apology , when we told her they are advertising it she was really unhelpful Don’t bother with this place , we didn’t stay we went on to find a lovely pub that offered a lovely roast , we will be writing to head office a s I think they are connected to the courtyard Marriott

Overall not a great experience. When enquiring about dessert told had ran out for today !.

The appearance of the two waiting staff was very poor, shirts looked like they needed a wash and iron. One of us had “fish & chips” and part way through found that it was uncooked. It was removed from bill.

They cancelled our booking the day before which was disappointing as it was for a birthday lunch.

Food is clean and nothing to complain about. Used. Mums a chef so bit of a criticism would say it's a bit plain is all

Positives: - The staff were friendly and accommodating. - The establishment was clean and had a modern atmosphere. Negatives: - The food lacked flavor and was disappointingly basic in quality. It also wasn't served very warm. - The carvery chef was often absent, resulting in long queues and delays. - Many of the food stations were frequently empty, requiring guests to wait for refills.

Chilli chicken was nice but the hunter’s chicken was marinaded in bbq sauce rather than the sauce being on the dish which made it a bit dry. Standard chain hotel restaurant food. Don’t expect anything more.
