   Our server was very attentive, the ribeye was done perfectly, and the carrot cake was wonderful.

   I love going to the porter house. Food and drinks are always incredible. The service is impeccable. We went for Mother’s Day and to celebrate a soccer win for our son and they went above and beyond!

   We are at the Porters House for Mother’s Day brunch. However, the Mother’s Day brunch was not really a brunch at all. The menu was extremely limited and they were not flexible in accommodating any changes or additions to the brunch menu items. We were not requesting drastic changes; for example, they had steak and eggs with eggs cooked over medium. We requested the eggs to not have the runny yolk and were told that they could not do that. Also, they had crab cakes on the normal menu; however, were unwilling to do crab cakes and eggs (with the runny yolk). This was extremely disappointing. The food was okay; however, the inflexible menu really soured the experience.

   Excellent experience. Ed was our waiter and he was absolutely wonderful!! Giving us enough space to have good conversation but also very attentive.

   Food was great and service was very good. However, I was disappointed they no longer have the “wine flights” on the menu any more and they never brought back the calamari for an appetizer (it was so good!) We sat in the bar, as we have done previously, and enjoy the more lively ambiance there.

   The porterhouse has been our favorite restaurant for the past five years. Every single time we go, we have had the pleasure of having Aza as our waiter. He treats us like family and is always willing to go above and beyond. Thank you for a wonderful memorable night.

    What a disappointing dinner experience! We chose The Porter's House to celebrate a family birthday, having held similar occasions at the restaurant previously. However, last night's experience was a significant deterioration in quality - - if this is the new standard, we will not return. Slow, distracted service - we were promptly greeted and seated by the hostess, but waited more than 10 minutes to be acknowledged by a server. Throughout the meal, we needed to wave the server over to our table from across the dining room for various needs. He was very friendly, but obviously distracted. Poor quality food - all 3 steaks ordered "medium" and arrived differently (one was perfect, one was rare, one was well). The asparagus was all seeded and not enjoyable to eat - when brought to the server's attention, we were told "sorry" with no offer to resolve the issue. The carrots, while tasty, were not cooked through. And, the lobster thermidor off-menu special was missing a key ingredient - lobster! The special was presented as having "loads of lobster in the sauce, along with a 6 oz tail" - the tail was there, however, no lobster could be found in the sauce. Birthday acknowledgement- it was a nice touch to have a birthday card from the staff on the table when we were seated, however, the cold slice of grocery-store birthday cake served at the end of the meal was an enormous disappointment. Homemade desserts are loudly touted as a house specialty, with numerous mentions to us of the "complimentary cheesecake" by servers last night. This hype only emphasized the poor quality of the layer cake that was presented - it would have been better to have offered nothing. Having spent $429 on a meal for 3 people, what we had hoped would be a lovely celebration left us all sorely disappointed and a bit angry. We could have eaten anywhere in Charlotte - likely for half the price and twice the quality. We will not return.
