Join us at the Potted Lobster for our Game Tasting Evening. The 6 course tasting menu will be focusing on seasonal game, sourced from neighbouring estates and farms, using traditional and modern cooking techniques to give you a delicious dining experience. For further indulgence why not upgrade to our wine pairing package and enjoy perfectly paired wine with decadent smells, tastes, and flavours to match to each course. Our Game tasting evening is running on Thursday 21st November 7pm onwards, and on Thursday 6th February.

Food excellent as always and the team are super friendly. The halibut, fresh crab, and cod are stand outs and the Specials menu offers a wide range of locally caught fish. Potted Lobster is our go to destination every time we’re in Northumberland

A fantastic evening. Friendly service, nice decor and spotlessly clean. The food was outstanding, very well presented and generous portions. If you are in Bamburgh then this restaurant is a must. Well done Potted Lobster take a bow.

We arrived early as it was a very cold day but we’re happily able to have lunch a little earlier. The twice baked lobster and cheese souffle was delicious, in a very tasty sauce with some crunchy toppings to add texture. Our main course was pan fried turbot with fondant potato, broccoli and mangetout. The fish was beautifully cooked and the green vegetables perfectly al dente. Unfortunately we were driving so unable to sample the wine list. This was a pity as there were some very interesting quality wines on the list. This certainly is an excellent restaurant for a good selection of lovely fresh fish.

Having received such good recommendations from friends we were disappointed with some dishes. 2 of us had the starter of soft shell crab from the Specials board. It was not good. It was tasteless, soggy and not at all appealing. Thereafter I had sea trout nicoise for the main course. The fish was fine but the nicoise was nothing special and the potatoes were hard. A simple fish dish that wasn’t executed well. For the prices charged we would have expected better.

Our third visit to your restaurant. Staff were lovely. We look forward to coming back in September when we come back on holiday.

We always try to go to The Potted Lobster two or three times a year as the food has always been exceptional. The service has always been excellent, and it was again on our latest visit. We’re already looking forward to going again.

As always a fantastic meal with great staff. Early today after a walk and to our surprise fish & chips for £10. I never usually go for offers as some restaurants do not deliver to the same quality - not here - fantastic.
