   Absolutely amazing pasta dishes. I can’t rave enough!!! Textures, flavors, presentation…everything made me happy. This is my new favorite Italian restaurant in San Diego.

   Great experience! Hand made pasta was fantastic, with excellent attention to detail. Live music was a real treat.

   As usual, we had a wonderful time at the Red Door. We enjoyed the food, and Chef Luciano's hospitality is always delightful.

   I heard so much about the Beef Wellington, so really wanted to try it, but was a little disappointed, since the meat was a little too rare for me and I had to spit out a bunch of pieces because it was very chewy. Other than that, the flavor was delicious and the music was very nice.

    We came on a Friday evening and were seated on the Bar side. There was a pianist/keyboardist providing live music the entire time. The short ribs were so tender and tasty, and the serving was generous. I had the beef Wellington (one of the few places I can get it) and it was cooked perfectly. It came with a side of vegetables, which were cooked perfectly and well seasoned. Just the right texture. While our entrees were delicious, two things really stood out to me that evening- the spicy pepper infused gin cocktail and the chocolate lava cake. I was surprised that the texture of the cake was light and fluffy, yet it was full of rich dark dark chocolate. I can’t remember the name of the cocktail, but it was so yummy and refreshing. It’s definitely spicy. The chef came by and checked on us a few times. It’s definitely a locally run restaurant with lots of TLC and locally sourced.
