The Refectory is a stunning New American restaurant located on Lancaster Avenue in Villanova. The menu features modern and upscale interpretations of American comfort classics such as homemade pastas, wood-fired flatbreads, a raw bar, craft cocktails and specialty homemade desserts. Our kitchen's philosophy is to keep it simple and straightforward, with a lot of thought and technique put behind each dish and ingredient.

The Refectory is open for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch. We validate parking in the I-1 garage across the street. For parties of 9 or more guests, please contact the restaurant directly by calling (610) 519-5786 or by emailing info@refectorynova.com. The private President's Dining Room accommodates up to 14 guests for a seated function, while semi-private areas of our dining room can be set up for guests ranging from 25-80. PARKING GARAGE INFORMATION: Parking is only available across the street from The Refectory at the Villanova I-1 Parking Garage located on South Ithan Avenue. There are no timing restrictions for vehicles parked at the I-1 Parking Garage for guests dining at The Refectory. The rates are as follows: the 1st hour is free, two hours is $2, and up to four hours is $5. Currently, we do not validate parking. Upon entry, pull a ticket and park on any of the first 3 floors. A pay machine accepting cash and credit is located by the Main Pedestrian Entrance/Exit on Floor 2. The exit lanes only accept credit cards and do not accept cash. To get to the Refectory from the Parking Garage from Floor 2, use the pedestrian walkway across Ithan Avenue. The Refectory is located in The Commons, the stone mixed-use residential and commercial building on the corner of Ithan & Lancaster Avenue. Look for restaurant signage and call us at 610-519-5786 if you have any issues

We were there for Sunday brunch for my husband’s birthday. Food was delicious and creative. Service was amazing. Prices were reasonable. We will be back!

They seemed short on help. We were seated quite a while before we were served even a glass of water. They must have realized because the host actually came over and poured our water and apologized for the delay. Next up were drinks. Two were fine and 2 seemed skimpy. We didn't complain but when I reordered another it was twice the size...seems very inconsistent. Not sure why the first pour was so skimpy. When it came to entrees, 3 out of 4 were fine but the last one came out wrong and was sent back. When it did come back the meat was not at the proper temperature. We have been there several times before and always had a good experience. I will chalk this one up to an off night. However, it may be quite a while before we return.

Truly another wonderful meal and attentive service. LaRue was our server. He was friendly and took great care of us. This was my friend’s first visit and was impressed on the food, service and ambiance. Thank you for my birthday ice cream! Delicious! Definitely will visit soon!

The food wasn’t of good quality. Signage could have been better. Staff was not welcoming or friendly. We were seated in the back by the kitchen. It looked like other tables were available.

We’ve eaten at the Refectory several times and this is the first time the food was disappointing. It was New Year’s Eve, however, none of the dishes were good. The short rib flat bread was the best part. The Halibut special was so overcooked and dried out not even the red pepper purée could save it. The filet mignon (ordered medium) came sliced, why? It made the meat, which was overcooked, dry as any juices had already run out. The Yule Log dessert special tasted like you were eating fudge since the frosting was hard, thick, and fudge-like. The Brûléed Citrus tart was not Brûléed in any fashion and the filling was as runny as melted ice cream. Drinks were the only good part. One note to the restaurant; since you do validate parking for the garage, why do the servers not ask for your parking ticket to get it stamped for you when you pay the bill or at least mention this fact to you so that you can take care of it yourself? Why do you have to notice a tiny little sign at the check-in desk to take advantage of this courtesy?

I wish I could remember our waiter’s name. It was our first time there and he was fantastic. This place is definitely a hidden gem. Food is excellent and drinks were impressive and tasty. We tried several things and have absolutely nothing bad to say about any of the dishes I love that they make all their own pasta nice diverse menu so even your pickiest eater can find something
