Since taking over the venue, we have been working hard to transform the building into a truly special pub, restaurant and coffee house.

Whatever reason you may have for visiting us – a healthy or hearty breakfast, a coffee with home-baking beside our wood-burning stove or downstairs with the kids in the play area, fantastic food with family in our restaurant, a glass of wine or a local beer with friends in our bar or on the riverside terrace – we assure you of a friendly welcome from staff who care.

Please let us know when you book if you are bringing your dog and we will reserve a suitable table.

The Riverside really is our dream come true and we look forward to welcoming you through its doors.

    We used to love this restaurant but prices have increased and quality has decreased. Quite a cold damp day and fire wasn’t on. Feels like it’s lost a bit of sparkle.

    Excellent place to meet friends. Good atmosphere and good food. I had a delicious salmon dish which apparently was new to the menu - I can recommend it. Polite and good young waitress. All in all an excellent lunch

    Had a late lunch at The Riverside, not the cheapest place but the food was delicious as were the cocktails…you only get what you pay for and I would highly recommend. I had a table booked with friends and we weren’t rushed away, in fact quite the opposite, maybe different on a busy weekend day. The reason I have only put 4 for the noise level, this was due to a very yappy dog, however not the restaurants fault and it didn’t go on too long!

    Its a lovely place but the food, was disappointing. The gluten free fish & chips were soggy and the batter was heavy with no taste. The mac & cheese was very oily. Ordered olives, didn't receive any but were on the bill & had to ask for them to be removed. Very expensive for below par food.

    Lovely experience from start to finish - I was there with my young son and elderly grandparent and both were made welcome and really nicely taken care of. The food was great too. If I need to take friends or family for a more special evening out I take them to the Riverside. Plus there is 0.0% draught which was a pleasant surprise.
