We look forward to seeing on the launch of our 7 day a week Carvery! we will be serving up to three courses for £20.00 starting 27th October 2024... of course you still be able to order pub Classics if roast is not for you! we look forward to seeing you!

We are a modern independent free-house with a vintage twist.
Serving a wide variety of beers, lagers, wines, spirits and coffees to complement our honest home cooked local food in a comfortable environment.
The pub was originally a blacksmiths "We wanted to stay true to the history of this grand old building, while giving it a modern twist, and a fresh lease of life". Serving daily specials along side a main menu.
We look forward to welcoming customers old and new.
We are a dog friendly place! with a fantastic beer garden

Staff and the food was very good, but it was so cold in there you had to keep your coats on all the time it was the second time we've been here in 2 weeks, and both times was freezing. They've got two open fires there, but none of them was in work but like I said, the food was very good and staff, very friendly.

Overall it was lovely to see the restaurant so busy again. Minor criticisms were slowness at bar but understable as it was busy, there were elements of the carvery that were missing when we arrived (stuffing & cranberry sauce mainly) but we could see the staff trying to replenish as quickly as they could. The meal was very tasty and we will certainly be booking again - it was one of the best carveries we have had for a long time. Will certainly recommend to others.

The carvery is new. The roast potatoes were not roasted. The cauliflower cheese was excellent. Beef was good.lack of choice of meat. We will come again. Would like small bites on menu again

Food very poor got there 5.30 no pigs in blankets lft shp bought Yorkshire pudding beef dried up turkey was tuff only two desserts to choice from black forest gateau or cheesecake unfortunately only one left all in all whant return

On our many visits to the Stables we have never met such a rude front of house person, with so much bad attitude. Until she is removed from this position we will not be returning. Normally this is a great venue with a good menu but something has gone horribly wrong here. Also, the normal menu has gone which had a great variety of choices to be replaced with a few basic main selections and a mediocre carvery.

Food was lovely as were the staff. Only reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is the menu choice was very limited and all main courses. We had gone in for lunch wanting a lunch menu but just carvery or large main courses. Probably won’t go there for lunch again because of this.

The food was lovely but they had been busy earlier in the day so had run out of most menu options so our choice was very limited. I would definitely eat there again but I would go early in the day to ensure full menu choice. Also with no table service you need to ensure folks in your party are steady on their feet and have steady hands to carry food and drink around the busy bar.

We arrived for a birthday meal on a Sunday as we'd been before and enjoyed the menu and food. But sadly we were told on arrival that the menu was just Sunday Roast. Staff were lovely, but food was just OK sadly.

Booked a table for three people . We were seated in a lovely quiet area of the restaurant , the starters were excellent and quite large portions , the main meal however was a bit disappointing . There were plenty of vegetables, but the amount overwhelmed the quantity of meat,(which only consisted of two slices of turkey and two or three slices of pork belly, also there was no cranberry sauce available for the Turkey or Apple sauce for the pork . The service was very good ,overall it was enjoyable and we would probably visit again but maybe not for a roast

The roast was good but poor service, servers seemed to lack organisation, we ordered a sweet to share but it arrived with an additional sweet that we did not order which we returned. No spoons were brought with the dessert so we had to ask a second person. Disappointed small size roasts have been removed from the menu. We have visited many times previously and not had any complaints.
